[Video Courtesy: Star Sports] Jaipur snatch victory from Bengal’s grasp by 27-25

The TOUGHEST MOMENT OF THE MATCH – the 40th minute when Sandeep Dhull caught Baldev Singh to flip the tables in Jaipur’s favour.

After destroying their respective opponents in their first match of the season, Jaipur and Bengal go head-to-head in Mumbai on the first match of the leg. Both the teams were backing themselves after such strong performances against U Mumba and UP Yoddha respectively. This match saw many players reach their milestones; Maninder Singh got his 450th raid point while Sandeep Dhull got his 50th tackle point. K Prapanjan from Bengal Warriors was effective in the first half but Sandeep Dhull from Jaipur Pink Panthers (JPP) made sure that he was nullified in the second half. The strong tackle on Baldev Singh in the last minute confirmed that Jaipur could inflict an All Out for Bengal.

This match was started by Bengal Warriors taking the command in the early minutes of the match when Rinku Narwal took on a Nilesh Salunke (JPP) who looked like he was relaxing in the opponents side as the scorecard read 0-4. K Prapanjan made his mark in the match by constantly summing up a touch point through his raids which saw him get 6 raid points in his 9 raids in the first half. It was a close game until Baldev Singh pranced on another napping Jaipur raider, this time the substitute Ajinkya Pawar took a 4-point lead for Bengal Warriors.  Baldev again struck on Jaipur when he brought a flying Deepak Narwal down to the ground in the 18th minute. Bengal Warriors made a smart move when they forced Jaipur to play through their Do-or-Die Raid in the last raid of the half which helped them get an extra point when Ajinkya Pawar’s dangling hand couldn’t cross the mid-line. The half ended with the score being 10-14.

The second half saw a different Jaipur Pink Panthers enter the match as they tried to get back from the slump.  They got really close to Bengal Warriors when Ajinkya Pawar entered the lobby and Rinku Narwal also entered the lobby with Mohammad Nabibaksh to take the technical points in the 25th minute to make it 15-16. Maninder Singh made sure that this didn’t affect Bengal Warriors much as he got rid of the captain Deepak Hooda in the very next raid in addition to a bonus point. Sandeep Dhull made efforts to keep Jaipur in the game with constant tackle points as confirmed by his tackle on K Prapanjan’s dubki. He got his 50th tackle point in the 34th minute of the match. Bengal Warriors continued to gain points as Jaipur Pink Panthers couldn’t increase their score with a strong Super Tackle effort on Deepak Hooda in the 37th minute by Baldev Singh from behind his back. Mohammad Taghi’s late entry in the 39th minute caused Jaipur the advantage to bounce back in the dying moments of the match. With an All-out being inflicted by Jaipur Pink Panthers in the 40th minute to snatch the lead, it was all dependent on Maninder Singh to get a quick point. Deepak Hooda had a different plan as he finally got a point to confirm Jaipur’s victory over Bengal by 27-25.

[Video Courtesy: Star Sports] Bengal Warriors and Dabang Delhi K.C. share spoils after raiding extravaganza Super 10s by K. Prapanjan and Naveen Kumar helped Bengal Warriors and Dabang Delhi K.C. tie their match 30-30. Another last raid thriller in VIVO Pro Kabaddi Season 7 saw Bengal Warriors and Dabang Delhi K.C. share the points after a 30-30 tie at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai on Saturday. Bengal Warriors’ K. Prapanjan and Dabang Delhi K.C.’s Naveen Kumar scored Super 10s for their sides but an error in judgement from the former in the last raid of the match resulted in the tie. Dabang Delhi K.C.  got off to a fine start through Chandran Ranjit’s Super Raid in the team’s very first raid of the match. Naveen Kumar then put in back-to-back successful raids to reduce Bengal Warriors down to a single player on the mat. Captain Joginder Narwal made short work of his counterpart Maninder Singh to inflict an All-Out just four minutes into the contest and give his team a 9-4 lead. Bengal Warriors struck back through K. Prapanjan and Rinku Narwal, who sent Ranjit and Meraj Sheykh to the bench in quick time. But Joginder was still on the mat for Dabang Delhi K.C. and he combined with fellow Corner Ravinder Pahal to keep the pressure on. Prapanjan, though, was relentless and got a touch point on Saeid Ghaffari to reduce Dabang Delhi K.C. to three on the mat. After two successful bonus attempts by Naveen Kumar, Joginder Super Tackled Prapanjan to help his team take an 18-10 lead going into halftime. Dabang Delhi K.C.’s Vijay, who scored the last point of the first half, also opened the scoring in the second half by tackling Mohammad Nabibakhsh. A two-point raid from Naveen then gave Dabang Delhi K.C. a 21-13 lead. Prapanjan made sure the points keep coming for Bengal Warriors before Ranjit escaped his Diving Ankle Hold attempt to send the raider to the bench. However, Bengal Warriors responded with a Super Tackle on Naveen before substitute Sukesh Hegde escaped Vijay’s Ankle Hold attempt and also got a touch on Ghaffari to make it a four-point game. Nabibakhsh then came into his own to first send Pahal and then Joginder to the bench and reduce Dabang Delhi K.C. to a single player on the mat. Ranjit delayed the All-Out with a touch point on Baldev Singh but it was eventually inflicted in the thirteenth minute to tie the scores at 25-25. Prapanjan continued his good work on the night and put in a Super Raid once Dabang Delhi K.C. reassembled on the mat. He reached his Super 10 in the 17th minute of the match. But Naveen kept the fight alive for Dabang Delhi K.C. and scored his Super 10 in the immediate next raid. It was a one-point game when Prapanjan came in for a Do-or-Die raid in the final raid of the match and he seemed to have picked up a touch point. But a Dabang Delhi K.C. review revealed there was no touch on the defender and the match ended in a tie. Top Performers: Bengal Warriors – Best Raider – K. Prapanjan (10 Raid Points) Best Defender – Jeeva Kumar (4 Tackle Points) Dabang Delhi K.C. - Best Raider – Naveen Kumar (11 Raid Points) Best Defender – Joginder Narwal (4 Tackle Points) #VIVOProKabaddi #PKLhighlights #PKL2019 #IsseToughKuchNahi http://www.khelnow.com http://www.khelnowtv.com

[Video Courtesy: Star Sports] Iceman’s successful buzzer raid helps Tamil Thalaivas tie with U.P. Yoddha U.P. Yoddha and Tamil Thalaivas were involved in a see-saw encounter that ended in a 28-28 tie at the Patliputra Indoor Stadium in Patna on Wednesday. Ajay ‘Iceman’ Thakur lived up to his name and scored in the crucial buzzer raid to help his side tie the match. The contest began with Tamil Thalaivas getting on the scoreboard first, but U.P. Yoddha didn’t have to wait for too long for their opening point either. Both teams looked to stay within touching distance of each other and were tied at 3-3 after the first five minutes. U.P. Yoddha then went on to assume control of the match soon after courtesy of a few successful raids by Shrikant Jadhav and Monu Goyat as well as a couple of successful tackles. U.P. Yoddha’s charge resulted in the first All-Out of the match on Tamil Thalaivas and gave them a 10-5 lead over the southerners. Tamil Thalaivas fought back and chipped away at U.P. Yoddha’s lead thanks to robust tackles from Manjeet Chhillar and swift raids from Rahul ‘Showman’ Chaudhari. That said, U.P. Yoddha’s defence also held firm and ensured that they kept their five-point lead intact as they went into the break with a 16-11 lead. The second half got underway with Thakur turning on the style. The Tamil Thalaivas captain scored three raid points from his first two raids of the half to reduce U.P. Yoddha’s lead to 16-15. However, U.P. Yoddha weren’t prepared to succumb to an All-Out without a fight despite having less players on the mat. They defended in resolute fashion and made it difficult for Tamil Thalaivas to enforce the decisive All-Out. Successive Super Tackles, in fact, opened up a 23-17 lead for U.P. Yoddha at one stage. However, a successful two-point raid by Shabeer Bapu and another Manjeet tackle finally inflicted the All-Out on U.P. Yoddha and tied the score at 23-23 with a little over eight minutes to play. U.P. Yoddha responded with successful raids from Rishank Devadiga and Monu, but Tamil Thalaivas weren’t prepared to allow them to reestablish their lead. Successful raids by Chaudhari and Bappu cancelled out the raid points from their counterparts and set up a nervy finish with the score tied at 26-26 with three minutes left in the game. In the end, neither team could emerge victorious after Thakur picked up a touch point on the buzzer raid as both teams shared the spoils. Top Performers: U.P. Yoddha– Best Raider – Rishank Devadiga (5 Raid Points) Best Defender – Sumit (4 Tackle Points) Tamil Thalaivas– Best Raider – Shabeer Bappu (5 Raid Points) Best Defender – Manjeet Chhillar (4 Tackle Points) #VIVOProKabaddi #PKLhighlights #PKL2019 #IsseToughKuchNahi http://www.khelnow.com http://www.khelnowtv.com

[Video Courtesy: Star Sports] Baliyan’s buzzer raid heroics powers U Mumba past Patna Pirates Patna Pirates outscored U Mumba in the second half, but U Mumba held on for a thrilling 34-30 win. A spectacular Super Raid by Rohit Baliyan on the buzzer ensured a 34-30 win for U Mumba against Patna Pirates at the EKA Arena by TransStadia in Ahmedabad on Friday. Patna Pirates forged a strong comeback in the second half, but U Mumba’s raiders did just enough to secure the win. Neither side took too long to get on the scoreboard, and it looked like Patna Pirates were on course to inflict an All-Out on U Mumba early on. However, a Super Tackle by U Mumba tied the score at 5-5 and gave them some impetus. The Maharashtra-based outfit then moved into the lead and began to build more momentum with Patna Pirates’ defence finding it difficult to contain U Mumba’s raiders. After seven unanswered points by U Mumba, the three-time champions finally scored a raid point through Vikas Jaglan to halt some of the opposition’s momentum. Having said that, U Mumba were still very much on top with their raiders continuing to find success against Patna Pirates’ defence. U Mumba eventually enforced the first All-Out of the match on Patna Pirates after a successful two-point raid by Athul MS was followed up with a crunching tackle. They led 17-9 after the All-Out and extended their lead further before half-time to take a 22-9 lead into the break. With just three men on the mat at the restart for Patna Pirates, U Mumba looked to drive home their advantage. The three-time champions though picked up the first points of the half courtesy of a Super Tackle on Arjun Deshwal. They followed up the Super Tackle with a two-point raid by Mohammad Esmaeil Maghsoudlou to cut U Mumba’s lead to 22-13. U Mumba, meanwhile, had to wait till the fourth minute for their first point of the half. However, Patna Pirates’ defenders had upped their game and continued to deny the opposition raiders any easy points, while Jang Kun Lee and Pardeep ‘Record-Breaker’ Narwal began finding success against U Mumba’s defence. Patna Pirates eventually enforced an All-Out with 10 minutes left in the half and reduced U Mumba’s lead to 26-21. The final 10 minutes of the contest saw both sides trade blows with the game going down to the wire. Patna Pirates kept up with U Mumba in terms of scoring thanks to successful raids by Lee, Pardeep and Maghsoudlou. U Mumba’s lead was reduced to just two points at 29-27 with a little under two minutes left on the clock. However, consecutive successful raids by Baliyan as well as a Super Raid by him with just one point to protect before the final whistle, gave U Mumba a four-point victory. Top Performers: U Mumba – Best Raider – Rohit Baliyan (9 Raid Points) Best Defender – Sandeep Narwal (3 Tackle Points) Patna Pirates – Best Raider – Pardeep Narwal (6 Raid Points) Best Defender – Hadi Oshtorak (3 Tackle Points) #VIVOProKabaddi #PKLhighlights #PKL2019 #IsseToughKuchNahi http://www.khelnow.com http://www.khelnowtv.com
