10 Easy Ways To Survive A Wild Animal Attack
10 Easy Ways To Survive A Wild Animal Attack

by BRIGHT SIDE

How to survive bear or shark attack? What should you do if you are bitten by a snake? Here're some tips on what to do when you encounter a wild animal and how to survive wild animal attacks. When we meet some wild animals on a picnic or in the woods, we get scared. But we usually don't know what to do in each case as we might not fully realize the danger and act properly. Any warm-blooded animal might be a carrier of rabies. This is a lethal disease that can't be cured. The disease is transmitted through a bite or spit. However sweet an animal seems, you'd better not touch it. Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music TIMESTAMPS Meeting a moose in the woods 0:27 Meeting a moose or a boar on the road while driving 1:39 Meeting a hedgehog 2:25 If you're attacked by an angry boar 2:58 If there's a bat in your apartment 3:31 If a coyote, a fox, or a jackal noticed you 4:21 If a nestling has fallen out of its nest 4:50 If a dolphin is near you while you're swimming in the sea 5:19 If a dolphin has been washed ashore 6:19 Meeting a shark in the open sea 6:57 Some extra tips 7:59 SUMMARY -Never approach moose calves or make any abrupt movements. -Don’t Press the car horn or blink the lights if you see a moose or a boar on the road. Slowly stop if the animal appears on the road. -Never touch a hedgehog barehanded as you might catch a whole variety of infections, only take it with you if it’s wounded. -Don’t try to outrun an angry boar, climb up a tree instead. -Don’t panic if you find a bat in your apartment. Put on some thick gloves and carefully take it. -Never try to play with a fox, coyote, or a jackal no matter how cute it looks. Instead, stretch out your arms or clothes to give the impression that you have increased in size. -Only try to save a nestling if it has visible damage. -Don’t think that a dolphin can do absolutely no harm to you. Swim away from it if you can. -If you see a dolphin ashore, don’t carry it back to the sea. Speak to rescuers or the coast guard and wait for help near the dolphin. -In case you ever meet a shark, stay still and defend yourself. Punch it on the nose with all your might and try to leave the water. -Don't let your pets play with wild animals. Don't feed wild animals. Never touch young animals. Their parents will be aggressive. 25 Traditions Sound Strange To You But Totally Normal In Other Countries
25 Traditions Sound Strange To You But Totally Normal In Other Countries

by BRIGHT SIDE

“So many countries, so many customs.” Any jet-setter will agree this good old proverb is true. In the age of globalization, going places has become an essential part of our life. We’re all well aware of the fact that while visiting a foreign country, we must obey certain local traditions and common rules. What would you do if you walked into a bathroom and instead of toilet paper, you found a bowl of water? And no instructions either! Or, what if warding off bad luck meant talking to birds at the park? Sure, these things may seem wacky to you, but they’re pretty normal customs in other countries. And some actually sound pretty fun! But in Scandinavia Austria, and Bavaria, Germany, finger pulling (or Fingerhakeln) is a competitive sport! - If you’re going on vacation and want to leave with as many good vibes as possible, sit down with your household first before you head out the door. In Russia, they believe that doing this ensures you have a good trip and wards off bad luck. - In Denmark, if it’s your 25th birthday or higher and you’re still single, your friends and family throw handfuls of cinnamon at you. - If you were to spit at your boss or a family member when you greeted them, it’d be considered pretty darn rude. But in the Maasai tribe in Kenya and northern Tanzania, spitting into their hands before a handshake is considered appropriate and respectful. - You might gift newlyweds with some sparkling new china, but in Germany, family and friends actually break dishes the night before a wedding! - In Venezuela, the early bird doesn’t necessarily get the worm. There, running late isn’t a problem the way it is in the US and other countries. When it comes to parties or even work meetings, arriving a few minutes late isn’t considered rude. - In South Africa, the tradition of chucking chairs, tables, and whatever furniture out the window onto the street for the New Year has been going strong since the end of apartheid. - Even if you’re naturally a leftie, using this hand is considered pretty rude in a lot of Middle Eastern countries. This is because the left hand is the designated “cleaning hand” in the bathroom and, therefore, it’s the dirty one. - f your biggest fear is doing your business in a restroom that’s run out of toilet paper, well…you might have some problems when visiting India. That’s because in most parts of this country, instead of toilet paper, people use water to cleanse their, uh, private areas. - In Thailand, there are tons of stray monkeys hanging around. And once a year in Lopburi, Bangkok, people dump over 6,600 pounds (3,000 kg) of fruits and veggies out for the little guys to munch on in what’s referred to as the Monkey Buffet Festival. - While we consider it bad luck to see the bride before the big day, people in Tidong, Indonesia believe using the toilet 3 days after the wedding is bad luck. - Americans are used to having copious amounts of ice in their drinks. But in many places in Europe, having little or no ice at all is the norm. - If you ever visit Fiji, you’ll likely be greeted by a cocktail containing juice from squeezed roots served in a wooden bowl known as Kava. And apparently, it has, shall we say “psychoactive effects.” Subscribe to Bright Side : https://goo.gl/rQTJZz ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/brightside/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/brightgram/ 5-Minute Crafts Youtube: https://www.goo.gl/8JVmuC Photos: https://www.depositphotos.com East News ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.brightside.me/

A Plane Lost Its Floor But The Captain Saved The Day
A Plane Lost Its Floor But The Captain Saved The Day

by BRIGHT SIDE

Imagine you need to get from Los Angeles to New York. To make it not so painfully long, you choose to take American Airlines Flight 96, with stopovers in Detroit and Buffalo. But several minutes after your plane leaves Detroit, it happens. Seemingly out of the blue - bang! And a part of the aircraft's floor is missing right under your feet! It happened on June 12, 1972. Captain Bryce McCormick was an aviation veteran with more than 24,000 flight hours under his belt. The co-pilot was also an experienced airman. There were 56 passengers on board the plane and 11 crew members. When the autopilot was turned on and the chief flight attendant went to the galley to make coffee, it happened. She was suddenly brought down to the floor by a powerful explosion... He didn't have anything to worry about: the radar confirmed that there was no bad weather on the route between Detroit and Buffalo. - Cydya Smith, the chief flight attendant on Flight 96, left her seat as soon as she saw the signs off and went to the galley to make coffee. And at exactly that moment, it happened. - The cockpit was rapidly filling with dark gray dust that blinded the men and didn't let them breathe. - Unexplainably, a cargo door had been blown out less than 5 minutes after takeoff, and it left the plane with a gaping hole in its side. - Hurricane force winds were sweeping through the cabin. One of the cabin crew members, Beatrice Copeland, was trapped under the collapsed door, unconscious. - The biggest problem was that the DC-10 had one peculiarity: it didn't have a backup system that allowed for manual operation if the hydraulic system got knocked out. - At that moment, the people on board the damaged plane still didn't know how lucky they were having Mr. McCormick as a pilot. Being curious about some of the DC-10 features, he’d spent hours on a flight deck simulator. - McCormick understood that his damaged plane would need the priority to land, and he contacted the Detroit airport control tower. - When the plane touched down, it was still moving incredibly fast. But the worst thing was that the aircraft was moving toward the main terminal building. - Miraculously, Whitney managed to return the plane to the runway, with two sets of wheels running on the runway and the other two off. - ll 67 people on board were alive, with only 11 not very serious injuries (9 passengers and 2 crew). - A large cargo door gone as if peeled away by a huge can opener. But on the very same day, the missing door was located in a cornfield not far from Windsor, and investigators came to a shocking conclusion. 12 Unexpected Etiquette Rules From Around The World
12 Unexpected Etiquette Rules From Around The World

by BRIGHT SIDE

Do you know other countries’ food etiquette rules? 🍽 When you travel abroad and try the local cuisine, you might notice how a certain country’s table manners are very different from your own. Here are 12 quite unexpected food etiquette rules from across the globe! 🌎 TIMESTAMPS: Don’t use forks in Thailand 1:10 Don’t “clean your plate” in China 1:55 Be ready to share a plate in Ethiopia 2:39 In Italy, you’ll insult the chef if you ask for extra cheese 3:22 Don’t ask for salt and pepper in Portugal 4:05 Be careful with chopsticks in Japan 4:45 Don’t touch food with your left hand in the Middle East 5:32 Don’t just sip on your wine in Georgia 6:18 Don’t fill your own glass in Japan 6:56 Only drink cappuccino before noon in Italy 7:32 Guests are welcomed with half a cup of tea in Kazakhstan 8:21 A clean teapot is a teapot without a soul in China 9:17 Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: - In Thailand, picking food up with a fork is considered bad form. However, you are allowed to push food onto a spoon using a fork… that’s it! - In China, however, it’s impolite to finish eating everything on your plate. Empty plates indicate that a host hasn’t served enough food and guests are still hungry. - As you sit at the table in Ethiopia waiting for someone to give you a plate to eat from, you might miss the actual meal! Everyone else will just eat from one large serving plate in the middle of the table without using any cutlery. - Although Italians do love this product, it’s considered rude to ask for extra cheese. It may insult the chef because they take it as you not liking the dish the way they’ve prepared it and wanting to change it. - If you ask for salt or pepper in Portugal, you may hurt people’s feelings. It’s kinda like with Italy; the cook may feel insulted by the fact that you need to “spice up” the dish they’ve served you. - According to tradition, people place chopsticks vertically during funerals. In a restaurant, doing this may insult the owner. - In the Middle East, India, and some African countries, the left hand is used for…uh…cleaning yourself up after going to the bathroom. - If you find yourself at a dinner party in Japan and wine is involved, never get a refill yourself. You’re supposed to fill the glass of the person sitting next to you at the table, and they’ll return the favor. - Italians do drink cappuccinos, of course, but it’s mostly a breakfast drink or even a substitute for breakfast. But if you drink this milky foamy coffee later in the day, it can upset your stomach, at least according to the locals. - When we think “tea ceremony,” we usually associate it with the UK and all their fancy tea-drinking etiquette. But it turns out there are plenty of tea fans in Kazakhstan, and they’ve got rules when it comes to drinking it as well. - If you’ve been invited to a tea ceremony in China and offer your help with the dishes afterwards, don’t even think about washing that teapot! The Chinese don’t wash teapots, especially traditional clay ones, with dish liquid. Have you ever wondered where you would have ended up if you’d kept digging without stopping? Great news! Even if you never managed to find out how far down your little tunnel could go, this video will tell you! TIMESTAMPS: What you'll find at a depth of 2.3 ft 0:58 At what depth we come across the tomb of Pharaoh Tutankhamun 1:54 How long are roots of tropical forest plants 2:22 What did the Mole Man do 2:32 Beijing's Underground City 3:01 The Paris Catacombs 3:18 The deepest swimming pool in the world 3:41 The deepest metro station in the world 4:22 The deepest hotel room 4:50 The deepest road tunnel on Earth 5:22 The deepest natural shaft in the world 6:04 The deepest laboratory in the world 8:07 At what depth the deepest known multicellular organism dwells 8:42 The deepest point of the ocean 9:18 The deepest artificial hole on Earth 10:17 #deepesthole #marianatrench Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY: - At a depth of 2.3 ft, you'll find numerous mole tunnels and rabbit warrens. By the way, a mole can dig a tunnel longer than 65 ft in just one day! - Deep-burrowing species of earthworms can be spotted at a depth of 10 ft. One of them, Drawida grandis, can grow up to 3.5 ft long. - You can still find the roots of tropical forest plants if you dig 23 ft down. Tropical trees need such long roots to store water during dry periods. - When we arrive at a depth of 60 ft, we can see Beijing's Underground City. That's a subterranean bomb shelter consisting of a vast network of tunnels and underground rooms. It’s situated under the capital of China. - In Cappadocia, Turkey, there's an underground complex that probably dates back to the 7th century. Its name is Derinkuyu Underground City, and it's situated almost 280 ft below Earth’s surface. - The Channel Tunnel, connecting the UK with France, is situated at a depth of 377 ft. - The deepest railway tunnel is located at a depth of 787 ft. That's the maximum depth of the Seikan Tunnel in Japan that opened in 1988. - Even if we could get down to 1,001 ft, we’d still be in the danger zone for a B82 Earth-penetrating nuclear warhead. That's its maximum destructive depth. - At a depth of 3,800 ft, there's the deepest bat colony in the world. About 1,000 brown bats spend every winter in a zinc mine in New York. - About 5,920 ft down and we arrive at the deepest part of the 227-mile-long Grand Canyon. Its average depth is 5,282 ft. - The average depth of the oceanic crust is almost 20,000 ft. This is also the depth of the deepest known microbes. They were found in rocks below China's Songliao Basin. -The winner in the category of the deepest artificial hole on Earth is Z44-Chayvo Oil and Gas Well. This shaft is drilled down to a whopping 40,604 ft! That's 15 Burj Khalifas put on top of each other. The shaft is located in the Russian Far East.
