No talking viral timelapse video of Shawn James off grid log cabin build by one man alone in the wilderness of Canada, from 1st tree I cut to last floor board I laid. Please SUBSCRIBE: http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIMXKin1fXXCeq2UJePJEog?sub_confirmation=1 So Why Should You Subscribe To My Channel? To watch me build my next cabin - bigger and better than this one!.. To relax… To virtually immerse yourself in nature… To see how I live debt free, stress free and low cost… To see how I build things alone… To see how I cook with no electricity or gas… To hear what steps I took to retire in my mid-forties so I could live my dream life… To interact with the happiest and most helpful community of viewers on YouTube… To become more self-reliant. If you want to build a rustic log cabin or tiny off grid home alone in the wilderness and you haven't seen the rest of my videos, this is a good primer. It's super fast motion though, so if you are interested in building a primitive log cabin like this, take a look at the "Log Cabin The Bear Den" playlist on the channel. At the beginning of the video, I show a winter drone photo of the cabin in the snow in December. Then I flashback to the first balsam fir tree I cut down with a saw and axe near the cabin. I drag the trees into place and clear the cabin site. All summer, I cut the notches in the logs as I built the cabin up, offsite. Once I was finished notching the logs with a log scribe, saw, axe, adze and wood carving gouge, I loaded up the entire cabin of logs and moved them to my land near Algonquin Park, Ontario Canada. Once on site, I spent a month reassembling the cabin on a foundation of sand and gravel. Once the log walls were up, I again used hand tools to shape every log, board and timber to erect the gable ends, the wood roof, the porch, the outhouse and a seemingly endless number of woodworking projects. For the roof, I used an ancient primitive technology to waterproof and preserve the wood - shou sugi ban, a fire hardening wood preservation technique unique to Japan and other areas in northern climates. Because the cabin is offgrid, I have used handtools for most of the build and without power, I have no options on site regardless. The tiny house will continue to be operated with power, not even renewable energy for now, so I'm heating the cabin with a woodstove fire place, which I also cook on. The cabin is made of cedar fence posts, twelve feet long and the cabin measures 10 feet x 20 feet inside with a one hundred square foot sleeping loft on the second floor. The floor is made of two inch thick pine planks, torched to help repel water and to give them a rustic barn board appearance. Tune off sound if you don't want to hear the music, - there is no talking in this silent video. If you are a subscriber or long time viewer, there is some new footage at the end of the video, but otherwise you have seen most of this. As always, I'll release a new video on Friday showing the progress I made this week on the door and the ice box for food storage. A truly wonderful Folk collectors item this LP released by `Trees` in 1971 sold poorly on it`s release it has now become a major collectible costing anywhere from 400 British Pounds upwards and it is bound to keep on rising in value – see my other you tube videos of some of the rarest records in the world Side 1: 1. Soldiers Three 2. Murdoch 3. Streets of Derry 4. Sally Free and Easy. Side 2: 1. Fool; Adam’s Toon 2. Geordie 3. While the Iron is Hot 4. Little Sadie 5. Polly on the Shore. Trees was an English folk rock band that existed between 1970 and 1973. Although the group met with little commercial success in their time, the reputation of the band has grown over the years. Like other folk contemporaries, Trees' music was influenced by Fairport Convention, but with a heavier and more psychedelic edge. The group's material was divided between adaptations of traditional songs and original compositions. On the Shore is the second (and last) album by British folk rock band Trees. It was recorded in October 1970, and released in January 1971 on CBS Records (64168). Sleeve design by Hipgnosis. The cover photographs were taken at The Hill Garden, part of Inverforth House, Hampstead Heath in North West London, designed by landscape architect Thomas Mawson. The Model in the photo was Katie Meehan Daughter of Tony Meehan.

5 MIND BLOWING Discoveries Found In The Forest

5 Most MIND BLOWING Discoveries Found In The Forest! Description: While the world is filled with beautiful landscapes and huge bodies of water, one of the oldest and most unique habitats, that you can find almost anywhere on the planet, are forests. Large trees that date back thousands and sometime even millions of years are home to a plethora of wildlife, and provides refuge to thousands of insects, animals and sometimes even people. With all that said we’re constantly still discovering or noticing things taking place inside of forests, so today that’s why Top 5 Supreme brings to you 5 Mind Blowing Discoveries Found in the Forest! Before we get started with today’s video don’t forget to click the bell to get notified every single day with the best Tops you’ll ever see! Also, don’t forget to subscribe to this channel! Let’s get rolling! #5 Trap Imagine riding your bicycle through a forest trail and coming across one of these – this is a wooden block with nails sticking out of it – or, a nail trap, designed to cause physical injury to either your transportation or your foot. Ouch! A cyclist was maneuvering through a forest path near Lampeter in South Wales when he discovered one of the blocks. What’s worse is that upon further investigation both the cyclist and the police discovered that there were messages on the bottoms of the blocks that read – ‘ha ha got you’ and ‘keep to the footpath’. Weird. #4 Ancient Life Recently a remarkable discovery was made in The Amazon rainforest. Archeologists uncovered 81 ancient settlements – that is, a place where people lived – that dated as far back as the year 1250! Evidence of human life was found when scientists canvased the area and gathered broken pottery, stone axes and buried heaps of trash. This discovery is remarkable in itself, but experts say that they expect to find hundreds more. Up to a million people could’ve occupied the undiscovered space in the Amazon rainforest, and deforestation – while it may not be the best thing for the environment – could lead to even more discoveries like this one. #3 Big Trees Next up on this list of mind blowing discoveries found in the forest may come as a bit of a surprise, because it’s actually a tree. But just hear me out, this isn’t your standard tree. These are the tallest tropical trees in the entire world. Scientists recently discovered that the tallest Meranti Kuning Siput tree is over 94.1 meters – or over 300 feet – up in the air. The tree is found in Malaysia, home to some of the world’s oldest forests – some dating back as far as 130 million years. Yes, 130 million! The forests are so old that they’re also home to a couple other very large things – including Chan’s megastick bug – which is officially the second longest insect in the world – along with trafflesia arnoldii, the world’s largest flower. #2 Exploding Ants So how many of you would give your life for your community? That’s exactly what one species of bug does in the forests of some Southeast Asian treetops. Malaysian exploding ants have an extremely unique defense mechanism – when they feel threated that have the ability to self-detonate – literally explode their body and killing itself – all the while spraying out a yellow glue that is lethal to other ants and small insects, but harmless to humans. Researchers say that there are up to 15 different species of this type of ant, but that some older information could be faulty as they continue to discern what’s truly accurate with this unique ant species. #1 Big Cat As the Scottish wildcast conservation project was in operation in Scotland, video of what’s being called the largest wildcat ever seen was taken. Watch as this absolutely monstrous wildcat – which is estimated to be 4 feet long – climbs down this log. Kev Bell, one of the field workers on the project, stated that he’s seen between 10 and 15 of those cats – called the Clashindarroch Beast – during the course of his observations. These are some of the rarest animals in the world, and normal sized wildcats come in at an average of just 2 feet long. And that is today’s list! Thanks for watching today's video.
