[Video Courtesy: Star Sports] Pawan Sehrawat and Nandal star as Bengaluru Bulls win on opening night in Chennai ‘Hi-Flyer’ Pawan Sehrawat scored his fifth Super 10 while Saurabh Nandal scored his second High 5 of the season in their team’s win. A fifth Super 10 of the season from ‘Hi-Flyer’ Pawan Sehrawat and a second career High 5 from Saurabh Nandal helped Bengaluru Bullscurb their two-match losing streak and beat Tamil Thalaivas by a scoreline of 32-21 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai on Saturday. Sehrawat was off to an unbelievable start as he scored a point in all but two of his first seven raid attempts. The Bengaluru Bulls defence, too, starved Tamil Thalaivas’ offence for points and tackled Ajay Thakur and Shabeer Bappu as the visitors raced off to a 7-0 start. The last man on the mat for Tamil Thalaivas, Manjeet Chhillar, went in to raid and picked up a bonus to get his team off the mark, but he too was tackled as the reigning champions inflicted an All-Out in just under seven minutes. The home side fared much better after reassembling on the mat and outscored Bengaluru Bulls 5-2 over the next five minutes to cut their deficit to seven. Shabeer’s two-point raid and Thakur’s touch point on Nandal got the momentum on Tamil Thalaivas’ side. But three unanswered points from Bengaluru Bulls put them back up by eight points. Tamil Thalaivas added two more points to their score while allowing the visitors just one as the teams headed into the half-time break with Bengaluru Bulls leading 17-10. After a cagey seven minutes in the second period, V Ajith Kumar’s touch point, followed by a Ran Singh tackle on Rohit Kumar, saw Tamil Thalaivas cut the deficit down to just four points. Thakur and Mohit Chhillar then added two more points to their team’s score to reduce Bengaluru Bulls down to just two. But the Season 6 champions responded with a Super Tackle followed by a two-point raid by Ankit, which extended their lead back up to six. Nandal’s tackle on Ajith Kumar not only gave him his High 5 but also reduced Tamil Thalaivas down to three men on the mat. Two more raid points from Sehrawat and a self-out from Ran Singh helped Bengaluru Bulls inflict an All-Out and take an 11-point lead. Both teams added a couple of points to their score over the final three minutes of the contest as Bengaluru Bulls emerged victors by 11 points. Telugu Titans Vs Haryana Steelers Pro Kabaddi Highlights 2019 PKL 2019 18 August English
Telugu Titans Vs Haryana Steelers Pro Kabaddi Highlights 2019 PKL 2019 18 August English

by Sportskeeda ...

Siddharth Desai was the star for Telugu Titans as he proved ‘form is temporary, and class is permanent’ with a Super 10 to help his team secure a 40-29 win against Haryana Steelers in a crucial VIVO Pro Kabaddi League encounter at Chennai’s Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium on Sunday. Siddharth’s 18 points, including his second Super 10 of the season, was too much to contain for the Haryana Steelers who’s three-match winning run came to a halt in their first match of the Chennai-leg. Telugu Titans went into the match with just one win in eight matches, but the lack of confidence was certainly not evident from the outset as the Desai brothers of Siddharth and Suraj took the game to the Steelers. In-form Vikash Kandola, on the back of a hat-trick of Super 10s, was in no mood to let the Titans run away with the match though as he kept pace with the South Indian team. The most crucial point of the first half came with 8 minutes remaining when Siddarth Desai combined well with his team to tackle Vikash Kandola. Vishal Bhardwaj, playing his 50th match in PKL, brought about the first all-out in the match, assisting Abozar Mighani to tackle Naveen with four minutes remaining to half time. Steelers’ recent resurgence in form had been largely due to Vikash Kandola’s ability to perform in Do-or-Die (team success ratio of 60%) and Super-Tackle situations (personal SR of 88%), but the Telugu Titans had a well-prepared plan for the quick raider, tackling him out once more before the half ended at 21-13 in favour of the Titans. The second half ended up just like the first, with Telugu’s defence not allowing Vikash Kandola to settle into the game. They inflicted the second all-out on Haryana with 11 minutes remaining till the end with Siddharth Desai leading the Telugu attack. Kandola’s super raid with two minutes left in the clock led to a near-collapse for the Titans but the side held on to their nerves to escape an all-out and clinch the match. Siddharth’s return to form will be the highlight for the Titans who now look a well-balanced unit. Watch the highlights of the match here in English. [Video Courtesy: Star Sports] Dabang Delhi K.C. rise to league summit after beating U.P. Yoddha Dabang Delhi K.C. rose to the summit of the vivo Pro Kabaddi Season 7 standings with a 36-27 win over U.P. Yoddha at the Thyagaraj Sports Complex in Delhi on Sunday. Naveen Kumarfinished the game with a whopping 16 raid points, while Ravinder Pahal registered a High 5. U.P. Yoddha started strongly and took an early 4-0 lead. But Naveen ensured that they didn’t open up a big lead with a couple of swift raids. Naveen, in fact, was proving to be the most difficult player for the visitors to contain and, along with Pahal, accounted for most of Dabang Delhi K.C.’s points in the first half. As the half wore on, U.P. Yoddha found containing Naveen increasingly difficult. The Dabang Delhi K.C. youngster’s efficiency while raiding helped enforce an All-Out on U.P. Yoddha with a little less than two minutes left in the half. The home side then finished the half strongly and went into the break with a 15-11 lead. The second period saw Dabang Delhi K.C. build on their lead in the first 10 minutes with a few more successful raids from Naveen and decisive tackles from their defenders. U.P. Yoddha, though, weren’t about to go down without a fight and tried to forge a comeback. They were chipping away at Dabang Delhi K.C.’s lead, but a successful Do-or-Die raid by Chandran Ranjit at a pivotal juncture changed the momentum. Naveen completed his seventh Super 10 moments later and then helped inflict a second All-Out on U.P. Yoddha with a little over four minutes left to play. With a 30-19 lead to protect in the closing stages, it looked as though the game was in the bag for Dabang Delhi K.C. But a four-point Super Raid by Rishank Devadiga changed all that and set up an interesting finish. However, just when it looked as though U.P. Yoddha were about to inflict an All-Out, Naveen came to the rescue for Dabang Delhi K.C. yet again with a two-point raid. His raid deflated the opposition and instilled confidence in his team as Dabang Delhi K.C. went on to register back-to-back wins at home.         Top Performers: Dabang Delhi K.C. – Best Raider – Naveen Kumar (16 Raid Points) Best Defender – Ravinder Pahal (5 Tackle Points) U.P. Yoddha – Best Raider – Monu Goyat (10 Raid Points) Best Defender – Sumit (3 Tackle Points) #VIVOProKabaddi #PKLhighlights #PKL2019 #IsseToughKuchNahi http://www.khelnow.com http://www.khelnowtv.com

[Video Courtesy: Star Sports] Abhishek Singh and a resilient defence star in U Mumba’s victory over Telugu Titans U Mumba’s corner duo of Fazel Atrachali and Sandeep Narwal combined for eight tackle points in an impressive display against Telugu Titans. An impressive display by the defence coupled with a Super 10 from raider Abhishek Singh helped U Mumba beat the Telugu Titans by a scoreline of 31-25 in the opening match of VIVO Pro Kabaddi Season 7 at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday. U Mumba got off to a good start and took an early two-point lead, courtesy of a couple of tackle points from skipper Fazel Atrachali and a point each from raiders Athul MS and Abhishek Singh. However, all-rounder Farhad Milaghardan picked up a raid point and Telugu Titans captain Farhad Milaghardan scored a tackle point and brought parity to the scoreline at 4-4. But that proved to be a momentary respite, as U Mumba picked up eight of the next ten points, courtesy of a couple of two-point raids from Rohit Baliyan and Abhishek Singh, with the latter enforcing the season’s first All-Out on the home side, helping U Mumba take a 12-6 lead in the contest. The visitors continued their momentum post the All-Out, as raiders Athul and Singh added a point each to their tallies on the night and all-rounder Sandeep Narwal picked up two tackle points to give U Mumba a nine-point lead in the contest. Substitute raider and debutant Rakesh Gowda picked up his first-ever point in VIVO Pro Kabaddi with a Toe Touch on Singh and the two teams headed into the half-time break with U Mumba leading 17-9. After the restart, Rajnish kept the scoreboard ticking for Telugu Titans by picking up bonus points, but U Mumba raiders were dealing heavy damage with touch points of their own and reduced the home side down to three men within the first four minutes of the second half. Abhishek added two more touch points to his tally and U Mumba’s defence got rid of the last man to inflict a second All-Out on Telugu Titans, taking a 24-13 lead. Desai’s first two raid points of the night and some brilliant work from the defence helped the home team embark on a 6-2 run and bring themselves back into the contest, but two emphatic tackles from Atrachali snuffed out their momentum and restored an eight-point advantage for his team. Abhishek extended U Mumba’s lead with a two-point raid and in the process, also completed his Super 10, the third of his career. Telugu Titans finished the game strong and scored six straight points, but it was a little too late, as U Mumba held on and won by a scoreline of 31-25. [Video Courtesy: Star Sports] Patna Pirates outplay Jaipur Pink Panthers through Pardeep and Lee’s smart raiding Pardeep Narwal’s excellent 14 raid point-performance, supported by Neeraj Kumar’s High 5 and Jang Kun Lee’s intelligent raiding in the dying minutes, gave Patna Pirates a 36-33 victory over Jaipur Pink Panthers at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indoor Stadium in Kolkata on Thursday. Sushil Gulia came off the bench to score 8 points in 8 raids for Jaipur Pink Panthers and Sandeep Dhull managed another High 5, but the team was unable to overcome the three-time champions in the closing minutes of the game. The raiders from both sides got early success before Patna Pirates’ defence struck by sending Deepak Hooda to the bench through Neeraj Kumar. Another tackle on Nitin Rawal then gave Patna Pirates more momentum before Pardeep Narwal’s Super Raid put them firmly in the driver’s seat. Pardeep then put in three more successful raids to bring Jaipur Pink Panthers on the verge of an All-Out, before a Super Tackle on the ‘Record-Breaker’ by Sandeep Dhull turned things around for his side. Ajinkya Pawar then put in two successful Do-or-Die raids, split by Amit Hooda’s tackle on Jang Kun Lee, to reduce Patna Pirates down to three men on the mat. Jaideep came to Patna Pirates’ rescue just at the right time to Super Tackle Pawar before Pardeep got a touch point on Rawal to reduce the score difference to one as Jaipur Pink Panthers led 15-14 at halftime. Amit Hooda’s Super Tackle on Pardeep in his first raid of the second period and Dhull’s Super Tackle on Monu soon after extended Jaipur Pink Panthers’ lead. But Lee’s two-point raid followed by Pardeep’s touches on Deepak and Nilesh Salunke in successive raids then reduced Jaipur Pink Panthers down to a solitary man, which soon translated to an All-Out to bring the score difference back to one point at 23-24 with 12 minutes left to play. Pardeep reached his Super 10 after the reset with a two-point raid to put Patna Pirates in the lead. But Dhull’s tackle on Pardeep in his next raid put Jaipur Pink Panthers back in the lead along with bringing up the defender’s High 5. Patna Pirates went back in the lead through Lee, but Sushil Gulia’s Super Raid brought back parity at 29-29 with just four minutes remaining on the clock. The teams kept trading blows from this point as Pardeep and Lee for Patna Pirates, and Deepak and Sushil for Jaipur Pink Panthers, kept the scoreboard ticking. But Neeraj Kumar’s successful tackles on Deepak and Sushil in quick time gave Patna Pirates a slender lead going into the final seconds. With a minute left to play, Lee ran down the clock brilliantly while Patna Pirates’ defence allowed Sushil just one point in the penultimate raid to help their team emerge successful by three points. [Video Courtesy: Star Sports] Sehrawat sizzles in Southern Derby as Bengaluru Bulls score first home win A sensational performance from ‘Hi-Flyer’ Pawan Kumar Sehrawat led Bengaluru Bulls to a 33-27 win over Tamil Thalaivas the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday. Left Corner Amit Sheoran, too, had a night to remember, finishing with a High 5. This was Bengaluru Bulls’ first victory at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in over three years. scoring with a two-point raid, but two unanswered points from Tamil Thalaivas, courtesy of ‘Showman’ Rahul Chaudhari and Manjeet Chhillar, brought parity to the scoreline. Chaudhari added another point to his tally but met a quick response from Sehrawat. The two teams were to-and-fro over the next nine minutes with Bengaluru Bulls taking a two-point lead on multiple occasions only to be pegged back by Tamil Thalaivas. With the scoreboard reading 11-10 in the home side’s favour, Chaudhari came in for a quick pursuit but was tackled by Amit Sheoran. In the subsequent raid, Sehrawat got two touch points to give Bengaluru Bulls the largest lead of the half. Tamil Thalaivas, though, finished the half strongly by scoring three unanswered points and went into the break trailing by just a solitary point at 13-14. Sumit Singh’s touch point early in the second period revived a defender for Bengaluru Bulls, and it came in handy in Tamil Thalaivas’ next Do-or-Die raid, as the three men pinned down Ajay Thakur. This not only added two points to their team’s score but also brought Sehrawat back on to the mat. The reigning MVP put in four successive successful raids in the ensuing period, scoring six raid points, doubling his tally on the night, and reducing Tamil Thalaivas down to two men. The visitors showed resilience, as V Ajith Kumar’s successful raid followed by two Super Tackles from the defence saw them embark on a 5-1 run, which cut the deficit to just two. But just a couple of minutes later, Bengaluru Bulls finally made their numerical advantage count, as Sehrawat’s two-point raid, followed by Amit Sheoran’s fifth tackle point of the night helped the home side inflict the game’s first All-Out.
