Riding on a terrific raid performance by ‘Hi-Flyer’ Pawan Sehrawat, Bengaluru Bulls beat U Mumba by 30-26. The match was built as the battle between the “Hi-Flyer” Pawan Sehrawat and Fazel “Sultan” Atrachali and it was the raider who came out on top. The home-side displayed a strong performance in their home stadium against Puneri Paltan and was more than ready to face Bengaluru Bulls, against whom they have their second best record with 10 victories. ‘Hi-Flyer’ Pawan Sehrawat got a Super 10 and single-handedly flipped the table for Bengaluru Bulls as they sneaked their way through victory against home team U Mumba. Strong performance by U Mumba’s Arjun Deshwal and Fazel “Sultan” Atrachali went in vain as some unforced errors towards the end caused them the match. Video Courtesy: Star Sports

[Video Courtesy: Star Sports] Hooda’s heroics undone by Haryana Steelers’ defence as both teams settle for a tie Haryana Steelers and Jaipur Pink Panthers played out a back-and-forth contest that saw them settle for a 32-32 tie at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indoor Stadium in Kolkata on Wednesday. Deepak Hooda scored 14 raid points for Jaipur Pink Panthers but High 5s from Haryana Steelers’ Ravi Kumar and Sunil helped their team get three points from the match. A close battle between the raiders from both sides ensured that neither team was able to run away with the lead in the first quarter of the match. Hooda kept the points coming for Jaipur Pink Panthers, while Prashanth Kumar Rai and Vikash Kandola found success for Haryana Steelers. However, Hooda’s successful raid in the 10th minute started an excellent run for Jaipur Pink Panthers which saw them inflict an All-Out just three minutes later to take a six-point lead. Haryana Steelers, though, fought back after reentering the mat and sent Hooda to the bench in his first raid itself. Kandola soon turned on the heat by first taking out Pavan TR and then putting in a three-point Super Raid to help Haryana Steelers inflict an All-Out of their own. Haryana Steelers then sent Nitin Rawal and Nilesh Salunke to the bench courtesy of their defence to go into halftime with an 18-14 lead. The defenders from both sides started the second period on a positive note which helped Haryana Steelers maintain their lead. But a two-point raid from Hooda, where he got touches on Rai and Vikas Kale, cut the gap to just two points. Ravi Kumar kept the All-Out at bay, though, with a Super Tackle on Hooda which also brought up his High 5. But once Hooda was revived through Elavarasan’s tackle on Kandola, the Jaipur Pink Panthers skipper immediately struck by reaching his Super 10 with a touch on his counterpart Dharmaraj Cheralathan. Naveen kept scoring bonus points for Haryana Steelers to keep them in the lead, but he was soon taken down by Sandeep Dhull which helped Jaipur Pink Panthers inflict the All-Out and reduce the lead to just a solitary point. They drove home their advantage in the ensuing minutes with successful tackles on Haryana Steelers’ main raiders Kandola and Rai to sit on a three-point lead with under a minute left. But Haryana Steelers sent Hooda to the bench in a do-or-die raid before Cheralathan surprised Dhull with a Toe Touch to make it a one-point game. Rai then managed to score in the penultimate raid to tie the game and Salunke put in an empty raid to end the match as both teams took three-points from the match. In Match 93 of Pro Kabaddi 2019, UP Yoddha produced a clinical performance to beat Jaipur Pink Panthers 38-32 at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Pune on Monday. Raiders Surender Gill (7 points), Shrikant Jadhav (9 points) and Rishank Devadiga (8 points) all stepped up for the UP as they overcame a stiff challenge from the season one champions to jump to fifth place on the PKL 2019 points table. Deepak Hooda secured a Super 10 (13 points including a Super Tackle) for the Pink Panthers but the team’s lack of quality raiders was evident once again as they struggled for inspiration in attack. Vishal came back in the starting line-up for Jaipur Pink Panthers as they looked to regain their early-season form with a better showing against a UP Yoddha side. And it was the Pink Panthers who got off to a bright start, with Sushil Gulia giving them three-points with a Super Raid in the second minute. But the Pink Panthers struggled in the defence, and a few silly errors allowed the UP raiders to crawl back in the match. Pro Kabaddi 2019 Highlights Telugu Titans Vs Dabang Delhi M94

by Khel Now TV

[Video Courtesy: Star Sports] Naveen stars again as Dabang Delhi K.C. outshine Telugu Titans Siddharth Desai’s Super 10 wasn’t enough for Telugu Titans as they went down to Dabang Delhi K.C., pillared by Naveen Kumar’s 14th successive Super 10 and a calculative defence, by a scoreline of 29-37 at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Mahalunge, Balewadi in Pune on Monday. Desai got Telugu Titans off the mark in the match and handed his team an early lead against the league toppers. It looked like Dabang Delhi K.C.’s offence would be contained on the night after Naveen was kept in check early in the game, that included a Super Tackle from Rakesh Gowda that kept Telugu Titans ahead. Naveen was the subject of another Super Tackle minutes later at the hands of Abozar Mighani that extended Telugu Titans’ advantage to four. But then Dabang Delhi. K.C. came together, led by a two-point raid from Naveen Kumar, and a solid combined defence that inflicted the first All Out of the match on Telugu Titans. The two teams then exchanged points leading up to the half - highlighted by another Naveen two-pointer, that included a bonus, and a Farhad Milaghardan raid that got Ravinder Pahal and Joginder Narwal out - with the home team leading 18-15. At the restart, the two teams continued to play on par but Dabang Delhi K.C. edged further as the clock ticked away. With a combination of Naveen’s raids and timely contribution from the defence, Dabang Delhi K.C. scored seven unanswered points that saw Telugu Titans All Out for the second time in the match. The score now read 29-18 with Telugu Titans trailing by 11 points. When the players reassembled, Telugu Titans went on the attack and added three straight points - that included Desai’s two successful raids - and got the deficit down to eight. However, the gap didn’t reduce any further as Naveen’s opportune raids added to Dabang Delhi K.C.’s tally and ballooned the gap to 11 again at 35-24 with just five minutes left. Desai added a couple of successful raids and Vishal Bhadwaj managed two tackles, but the gap proved just too much as Telugu Titans went down by eight points. [Video Courtesy: Star Sports] Vikash Kandola and Vikas Kale starred in Haryana Steelers’ 33-30 victory over Bengaluru Bulls. Haryana Steelers prevailed over Bengaluru Bullsby a scoreline for 33-30 in a game that went to the final raid at the EKA Arena by TransStadia in Ahmedabad on Sunday. This victory was Haryana Steelers’ second on the trot and ended Bengaluru Bulls’ three-game winning streak in Season 7. Bengaluru Bulls’ raiders Pawan Sehrawat and Rohit Kumar were off the blocks quickly and combined for five raid points in the first four minutes, as they raced to a 6-1 lead. Vikash Kandola’s touch point in a Do-Or-Die raid and Dharmaraj Cheralathan’s Super Tackle helped Haryana Steelers cut down Bengaluru Bulls’ lead, but skipper Rohit scored three points in quick succession and reduced Haryana Steelers down to just a solitary man on the mat. Bengaluru Bulls’ defence made no mistake in pinning down Naveen and inflicted the game’s first All-Out on Haryana Steelers. Bengaluru Bulls then added three more unanswered points before Vinay’s first raid point of the night followed by Kuldeep Singh’s tackle on Rohit started a good spell for Haryana Steelers, in which they outscored Bengaluru Bulls 7-2 and reduced them to just one man on the mat. The defence successful tackled down Ashish Sangwan and inflicted the All-Out on Bengaluru Bulls in the final play of the half, as the teams went into the half-time break with Haryana Steelers trailing 16-17. Kandola opened the scoring in the second half with a bonus point to level the scores, and the scores continued to stay close for the rest of the contest. A two-point raid from Rohit was followed by two more unanswered points for Bengaluru Bulls, but Kandola responded with a two-point raid of his own before Dashing Sehrawat off the mat in the subsequent raid. Vikas Kale’s tackle on Sumit Singh and Kandola’s successful raid in a Do-Or-Die situation put Haryana Steelers up by two points with just over two minutes left in the contest. But Mohit Sehrawat’s touch point on Kuldeep revived Pawan Sehrawat and the reigning MVP showcased his value as a defender, tackling down Kandola to level the scores with under a minute to go in the match. Sehrawat then came in to raid but was tackled by veteran Dharmaraj Cheralathan, which gave Haryana Steelers a slender lead with seconds left in the contest. Vinay then successfully managed to get through Mahender Singh’s tackle attempt to put his team up by two. Rohit’s 10th raid point of the night brought Bengaluru Bulls within one point of Haryana Steelers. But Kandola came through for his team in final raid of the contest with a two-point raid, confirming their victory. [Video Courtesy: Star Sports] Haryana Steelers beat U Mumba to leapfrog them in standings Vikash Kandola’s 9 raid points helped Haryana Steelers overcome U Mumba 30-27. Haryana Steelers held their nerve through a close contest to register a narrow 30-27 win over U Mumba at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai on Monday. Vikash Kandola played a starring role for Haryana Steelers with 9 raid points, including a couple of crucial points in the closing stages of the contest. U Mumba started brightly thanks to an early tackle by Harendra Kumar that sent Haryana Steelers’ dangerman Kandola to the bench. Arjun Deshwal then got in on the action with a successful two-point raid. Haryana Steelers, though, fought back as Kandola returned to the mat and executed a Super Raid to put his side into a 5-4 lead. The Season 2 champions responded with a two-point raid by Athul MS to retake the lead as both sets of raiders dominated the first 10 minutes of the contest. Just as it looked like Haryana Steelers were edging towards inflicting an All-Out, U Mumba’s Sandeep Narwal came up with a Super Tackle. However, Sandeep’s contribution merely delayed the inevitable as Haryana Steelers went on to enforce an All-Out on U Mumba and take a 13-8 lead. The first half came to a close with Haryana Steelers very much on top as their defenders also began to grow into the contest. They took a 16-8 lead into the break and ensured that U Mumba would start the second half with just four men on court. Haryana Steelers began the second period looking to inflict a second All-Out on U Mumba. However, Fazel ‘Sultan’ Atrachali executed a Super Tackle to thwart Haryana Steelers’ momentum, while giving U Mumba fresh impetus. Atrachali’s tackle helped turn the tides of the contest in U Mumba’s favour, but Haryana Steelers executed successive Super Tackles to maintain their lead. A two-point raid in a Do-or-Die situation by Sandeep Narwal finally helped usher in an All-Out on Haryana Steelers with a little over four minutes left to play. Though the score was 26-23 in favour of Haryana Steelers after the All-Out, U Mumba had momentum on their side. A couple of successful raids by Abhishek Singhand one by Athul reduced the gap to one point. Kandola, though, showed tremendous resolve and continued to score raid points for Haryana Steelers to squash U Mumba’s chances of a comeback and give his side a slender three-point victory. Pro Kabaddi 2019 Match 92 Puneri Paltan Vs Patna Pirates Video Highlights

by Business Sta...

In match 92 of Pro Kabaddi 2019, Pardeep Narwal was the star player for three-time champions Patna Pirates as they thrashed home team Puneri Paltan 55-33 at Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Pune on Sunday. The ‘Dubki King’ secured yet another Super 10 (18 raid points) as the Patna Pirates overcame a stiff challenge from Anup Kumar-coached Puneri Paltan to secure their third win on the trot. It wasn’t just Pardeep who rose up to the challenge as defender Neeraj Kumar too produced an impressing show with a record-equalling 11 tackle points (a record shared with Manjeet Chhillar). The first half of the match was highly entertaining with both teams throwing caution to the wind in a raid fest. Pune’s young raider Pankaj Mohite was the first to impress with a three-point Super Raid in the fourth minute. But ‘record-breaker’ Pardeep Narwal was in no mood to let Pune’s raiders steal the limelight. The Pirates continued their domination till the final stages of the match with Neeraj Kumar reaching double figures for tackle points. Pardeep also overtook Naveen Kumar in raiding points for the season as Patna look all set for a good finishing phase to the season. The win helped Patna jump to 8th in the points table.
