So this story is not one of the ones I've gotten used to telling. But it’s proof that some great stuff happens sometimes. And here is how it all played out. Around a year ago I was hanging out with some friends when I got a strange Whatsapp message from an unknown number. It had an old lady’s selfie and it said "Hello." I showed this to the guys and they said I should send a selfie back. I was in a great mood so did it. “Great smile!” — she answered — “But who is it, Jane? Your new boyfriend??” We laughed so hard at that and decided to send another message. “No, this is your new boyfriend, grandma” — we wrote. Then there was a pause. Probably because she discovered that she had messed up numbers or was shocked at our obnoxious answer. After an hour or so while I was waiting for a burger, I ended up receiving lots of emojis and texts in an apology from her. She was going to invite her friend for dinner but was having difficulties with her new phone. I said that I would have been happy to be that friend because I had no doubt that her dinner was going to be much better than mine. She immediately sent crying smiles, a photo of a baked chicken, and her exact address. But it was just too much that day and I declined her invitation. I didn’t understand it then but this was the start of our friendship. I knew that I could write to her and she would respond. Usually, we would send each other selfies or thumbs up. But the other day when I was hungry, out of money, and wandering around, she invited me to dinner [come to dinner] and I couldn’t say no. Teresa met me with a soulful smile and some pumpkin soup. Before that, I thought I hated any kind of pumpkin dish. She told me that she had been living alone since her husband’s death, but that she had lots of friends so she didn’t feel lonely. I told her that I was out of money because I was trying to save some up for a new skateboard. She told me that her grandson was going to visit her soon and that she would be very happy to introduce me to him because he was as crazy about skateboarding as I was. I told her that my parents worked long days and that I could spend my time however I wanted. She asked me if I could help her with choosing a present for her grandson. I, happy and full from a really awesome dinner, said sure. She was going to give him a ukulele, but the guy I saw in the AC/DC t-shirt (he was like this in one of her photos) didn’t seem to be a huge country music fan. So Teresa and I took a walk through the city in search of something special. First, I thought it might be embarrassing to be seen just walking around with an old woman. Teresa somehow read my mind. “Oh, boy — she said — If you see your friends, I can pretend to be blind so you can help me cross the street.” She could've been offended by this but instead, she laughed. It was then that I understood how stupid I was. That day we chose some really cool headphones for her grandson, powerful and stylish ones. She was so happy with this present that it was impossible not to envy him. But I was trying. A few weeks later, I noticed that I hadn’t heard from her for a while. And she wasn't answering her messages. So I went to her house. I found her listless and heartbroken. She said her grandson was not going to visit her: he had chosen to go off with his friends instead, for that vacation. She asked me to call her the next day or the next week because she was too sad to talk about girls and other stuff. So I went home feeling angry at the guy in the AC/DC t-shirt. How dare he make Teresa so sad? I didn’t want to leave things how they were. So in half an hour, I was knocking at Teresa’s door again. I brought her my PlayStation and lots of ice cream (I heard girls like that when they're sad). She was stunned when saw me with all this sadness-killing equipment. First, she wasn’t going to play, but then… we discovered [K.O.] that she was the real Mortal Kombat crusher! In a couple of hours she came back to life. I was very proud of that. I knew that I didn’t just help an unknown old lady, I helped my friend. We decided to make this a sort-of therapy session once a month. We named it the Fight-the-Sadness-Away Day. My parents never even noticed me coming home late, and they didn’t know the address of Teresa’s house or that I had made such a strange friend. I’m telling you this because once, when I came to Teresa’s house with my PlayStation, I found her on the floor, incapacitated. I was shocked to tears, but somehow I managed to call an ambulance. They took her to the hospital. She was unconscious and I was just sitting in the hall waiting. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com #actuallyhappened

But first of all she needs to explain something to you about her family. A long time ago her great grandfather built an enormous three-storey house, which was supposed to become a “family nest,” just like an old aristocratic estate in the South. Her great grandfather managed to maintain his wealth during the Great Depression, so her grandfather and later on her father inherited both the house and the traditions. And Andrea hopes that when the time comes, she’ll live there with her own family. The house is really big, and so is the garden surrounding it. So her father hires people to help the family with all of the household tasks that need to be done. The gardener creates masterpieces from ordinary plants. The cook makes dinner and leaves food for the next day in the fridge. And then there’s the housekeeper. Their current housekeeper is called Julia; she came from Mexico a couple of years ago. Somebody has to pay all these expenses, so her dad spends almost all of his time in his office, coming home late for dinner and sometimes not even coming home at all. She misses seeing him a lot, but she understands why it has to be like this. Her mom doesn’t have to work, but this doesn’t means that she gets to see her more often either. Even though their town is small, there are many activities that her mom always participates in. And whenever there's some kind of family drama, her mom is always there in the middle of it – soothing, listening, and encouraging. All the housewives in their town share their secrets with her, and no contest like “The Most Beautiful Rose in Town” would dare be held without her. So Andrea often stays home without anyone apart from Julia, who's completely silent. But she seldom feels lonely. Her huge house is not as empty as you might think, and it's never felt depressing to her! It has a complicated but well-thought out interior, full of beautiful things: vases, jewel caskets, ash trays (though her father doesn't smoke); all kinds of figurines, stones, and other souvenirs collected by three generations of her family. And from very early childhood she’s enjoyed sorting them out; nobody else’s house has so many amazing and sometimes very expensive things. And she’s always felt proud to experience such an unusual way of life in her home. That's why she noticed immediately when a letter opener and an ivory owl statuette disappeared from the table in the library. Well, the library is very large, so these things could easily have fallen on the floor and gotten lost during cleaning, so she just called the housekeeper and asked her to look for them during her next cleaning session. For some reason Julia looked worried and nervous, as if she had ordered her to find the souvenirs immediately. But she is quite an emotional person and doesn’t speak English very well, so she decided not to correct her and returned to what she was doing. But the story here has only just begun. A week later, an antique forged ash tray disappeared from the living room. That seemed strange. She looked under the coffee tables and sofas, kneeling on the floor in her dress, but couldn’t find it. Then she remembered the souvenirs from the library and went to see if they had been found…they hadn’t. Okay, those things were really small and could easily have rolled somewhere under the shelves, but the ash tray was really big and heavy and couldn't just disappear so easily. So where did it go? Had it been…stolen? Her parents didn’t seem to notice the loss of these things, so she decided not to upset them and instead tried to figure out who had been in their home recently. The more she thought about it, the more she realized that no one new had visited them. Maybe it was somebody from the house staff? The gardener never entered the main house. The cook worked only in the evenings, and seldom left the kitchen. So that just left Julia! She actually lived in the house; she has her own room and, also, she has access to EVERY room! So she started an investigation, like Sherlock Holmes. Andrea followed Julia in disguise. She examined every room before and after cleaning, trying to catch her in the act when she stole something again. She was contemplating telling her parents everything but, you know…she didn’t want to look intolerant by blaming Julia without any proof. Who else could steal valuables in a wealthy family's house? Of course, only a migrant! No way! She didn’t want anybody to think she was so narrow-minded. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com

My name is Brenda and I am thirteen years old. Today I have finally found the courage to share the most mysterious and enigmatic story of my life. Have you ever had any really weird things happen to you? Like things you could not quite explain? So, it all started when my family moved to a small town in Tennessee. I was very excited about going to this much praised school and to start all over in a new place. It seemed like nothing could go wrong. But it actually did. My classmates were very nice. They showed me around and I became acquainted with everyone...except Aidan. He was horrifying. He was silent and distant, and he just gave me a quick look, but it made me feel really uncomfortable. I asked my new friends about him and they told me he was just a weirdo. Nobody got along with him and that wasn't unusual. They also said that he collected strange things and never let anyone touch the bag where he kept all his stuff. To tell the truth, I used to be really into any kind of mysticism at that time, so I got really intrigued. And then my classmates had a reckless idea - they wanted to steal Aidan's bag and look to see what was in there. That was the plan. They were supposed to distract him, and I had to grab his bag. And that's what we did, but it didn't work out properly. Aidan noticed me taking the bag and became furious. He screamed, yelled, and even cursed me! I got so scared that I ran away as fast as I could. I was running without looking back, but heard him cry out something like: "You are going to regret this!" And soon afterward, everybody was looking at the contents of the bag with an unnatural interest and horror. There were things like rocks, feathers, dry branches, and even dead birds and the remains of dead cats. But I was mortified and kept my distance. I was sure that Aidan would not stand for this. But nothing bad happened the next day or the day after, so I thought the story was over, but no such luck. One day, there was a knock at our door. It was some strange woman. She said she was our neighbor and came to just say ''Hi' to the new tenants. She even brought a cake! So my mom went to the kitchen to grab plates and I stayed with this woman all alone. She was frightening and attractive at the same time. She was staring at me and then suddenly asked me if I could get her a glass of water. But when I came back with the glass, the room was empty! The woman was gone! My mom came back with tea and cake and asked me what had happened. But I didn't not know what to say! We were both were very surprised. What urgent business could've made our guest leave without saying goodbye? Then I looked at the chair where she was sitting and saw a book. I opened it and couldn't believe my own eyes! It was a spell book or something. There were a lot strange pictures and symbols in it. I took it and snuck it into my room. It was absolutely fantastic! I spent hours looking through that book! And then I found a folded note in between the pages. It said – "If you want to know more, just let me know." I was dying of curiosity! The woman told us where she lived, but I didn't have the courage to just go to her house. Then the next Sunday morning, when I was leaving the supermarket, I saw the woman standing on the corner. I guess I didn't realize what I was actually doing, but I went up to her with my legs shaking and breathed out: ""I want to know more!"" She smiled at me and told me to meet her at a small shed in the nearby woods. Of course, I didn't say anything to my mom about what I was doing. She never appreciated my interests in the mystic. But all this was far too intriguing to resist. I went to the shed at the appointed time and the woman was waiting for me. It seemed I had entered into a witch's house. The shed was full of cauldrons, jars with some weird stuff, dream catchers, and other curious items. This woman started to tell me stories and explain the meanings of the pictures and symbols in the book she had left for me. I just couldn't stop listening to her. It was as if I had been hypnotized. She told me that I had a gift and that I was the chosen one. She also warned that I had to value all of this knowledge and to keep it a secret. And I went back there again and again. I even started skipping school, because I was much more interested in my magic lessons. Once, my mysterious teacher told me we were going to learn to make special amulets. She told me that if I did everything right, they would protect my family. That was so exciting! After we made the amulets, I had to bring them home and hide them in the furthest corners of our house. So I did. And the results came quickly. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com #actuallyhappened

SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Lewis, and this is the story of how he helped the police catch some serial robbers. So, it all started when Lewis’ folks took away his Xbox and grounded him for three weeks. He wasn't allowed to play video games or hang out with friends. They expected him to study non-stop, because he was failing almost everything at school. And, as if on purpose, they did it literally right before the new Assassin's Creed game was released. It was a bad situation, but nothing could have stopped him from getting his favorite thing in the world. So, naturally, Lewis turned to his best buddy, Stanley, for help. And as always he didn't disappoint. Not only did he have the game, but he was also sick, so his parents let him stay at home for a couple of days. Everything was aligning perfectly. Or so he thought... So, that day he rode his bike over to Stanley's house. He was in a hurry, anticipating some high-grade gaming time, when all of a sudden he heard gunshots – real gunshots – and screaming. He saw several people running out of a pawn shop that was right in front of him. Luckily, there was a dumpster nearby where he could hide. From there he was able to see them better. They looked like typical robbers, with face masks, guns, and everything. They were trying to keep a hold of the money inside of their bags, but some of it fell on the ground anyway. They were obviously panicking. He barely even noticed the car they were getting into. He couldn't see it clearly from his hiding spot, so he took out his phone and tried to film them. The robbers had almost left when he was finally able to capture their car on his camera. It was just a 15-second video, but he hoped it would at least give a decent view of the car. After that, he went straight to Stanley's house. He wasn't sure if the robbers noticed him or not, but he wasn't going to risk it. He told Stanley everything, and showed him the video. It was good enough to see the car plate number. They had completely forgotten about the game, and instead talked for hours about what to do, and still couldn't decide if they should tell somebody about it or not. Finally, they decided that there had probably been surveillance cameras around, and police could do without him or his recording. They also didn't want their parents to find out and go berserk about the whole thing. Three weeks went by, and Lewis’ period of being grounded ended, but this was just the start of his suffering. The robbery seemed to be the only thing people were talking about. Wherever he went he heard something new about it and, every time, it made him feel like a complete jerk. It seemed that the police still didn't have any leads, and asked for witnesses to come forward with any information. The pawn shop's owner, Mr. Stevenson, had been shot, and his wife had had a heart attack. Both of them were still in the hospital. He also learned that this wasn't the first robbery that had happened, and the police had been after them for several months already. After a long battle with his conscience, he finally decided that he needed to tell the police about the video and the car. So, the plan was to send the video to the police from a library computer. That way they would know it was done by someone using a school account, but not who actually sent it. Then the problem would be solved, the robbers would end up in prison, and he would be the anonymous hero of the day. Lewis went to the library and started googling which e-mail account he could use to send the video. But at that moment he felt the spooky presence of the school librarian, Mrs. Mullins, nearby. When she asked him what he was researching, his mind went blank. He hadn’t come up with a proper lie beforehand, so he said the only thing he could think of – the pawn shop's robbery. That was a huge mistake, because she then bombarded him with questions. He was now panicking, and it probably showed because she asked him if he was alright. “It's just so horrible what happened, y'know? The robbery! Poor Mr. Stevenson and his wife! Awful, it's just so awful. It makes me so scared that they haven't caught the robbers yet. Like, what if they robbed the school? Or the library? Have you thought about that possibility? Knowledge is power, right? And the robbers...what did they want?” He couldn't stop talking nonsense to save his life. He was just saying random stuff, hoping she would believe him and leave him alone. He was sure she wouldn’t, but she left him to do his “research” anyway. So, he quickly wrote out the email, attached the video, and signed it “Anonymous.” Then he snuck out of the library to avoid another interrogation and went home...
