Hi, this is Michelle, and this story literally happened yesterday. There’s so much to talk about from last night that she’s not really sure where to start. In brief, she was betrayed by her best friend and she almost died, and both these things happened within fifteen minutes of each other. It all started as a truth or dare game.

Michelle has a group of friends that she’s known since they were all about five years old. There are six of them, all girls, and they’re fourteen now. Actually, a couple of them have already turned fifteen. She won’t bother going through all their names, since she would have to change them anyway to tell this story, but the important thing is that out of all of them her best friend is called Lana. Though she should probably say she HAD a best friend.

Anyway, Michelle and Lana live close to each other, so they’ve always seen each other more often than the others. Over the years, they’ve grown really close, so basically she knows a lot about Michelle and vice versa…or so Michelle thought. Bear in mind also that Michelle is a really, really private person, and she hates telling people personal things, although Lana was an exception. And there are a lot of things about her that even she doesn’t know either.

But nevermind about all that – let’s stick to the story.

Last night, they had a sleepover at Lana’s. Her parents are away on vacation, and they have no problem leaving the whole house to Lana to look after. She’s never caused them any trouble when they’ve gone away in the past, but Michelle can only imagine the looks on their faces when they come back and hear what just happened.

So five of them came over to Lana's for the sleepover, because one of their friends – let’s call her Judy – got sick. It wasn’t the first time they spent the night at Lana’s, and Michelle herself went over to hang out even more often than the others, since she only lives like, two houses away.

So last night, they first decided to watch a movie, then they cooked dinner together – two of their friends love cooking. After that they decided that they wanted to play something, and someone suggested “Truth or Dare,” the classic sleepover game.

As a very private person, Michelle really hates this game, because she has to pick dare all the time. The idea of telling any secret, even to a group of close friends, is just terrifying for her.

It was okay at the start – there was nothing but harmless questions and easy tasks. Like singing a stupid song, or calling Judy to convince her Ed Sheeran was at the house with them on a surprise visit…it sure sounds dumb now, but shemanaged to sound dead serious, and Judy almost believed her! But the girls spoiled everything when they started laughing, they just couldn’t keep it in anymore.

One thing though, before she moves on to the main part of the story. Lana and Michelle have a classmate called Josh. Josh Hurley, that’s what she’ll call him here. And…thank god this is anonymous…she really, really likes him. He’s justamazing. And he lives right across the street from Lana.

They talk at school every once in a while, but it never goes further than that. Michelle believes it really could go further, but he doesn’t know anything about how she feels. No one does – except for Lana.

So there they were playing, and it was Michelle’s turn again, and of course she picked dare rather than truth. The girls were struggling to come up with a task for her, but after a few minutes Lana said that she had a great idea.

She said that Michelle had to get on the roof of her house and shout “I LOVE YOU JOSH HURLEY!” three times, as loud as she could.

Michelle still can’t believe she said it. Lana knew that she liked Josh, and she knew there was a big chance he’d hear about it sooner or later, and she knew just how embarrassed Michelle wouldbe if she told anyone else.

But at that moment she simply thought: a game is a game, let’s just get it over with. She climbed onto the roof through the bedroom window, and found a spot that looked like it was safe. It was almost midnight, so it was really dark. The girls were all standing at the window ready to film the whole thing.

Just to remind you, the phrase she had to say was “I love you, Josh Hurley.” She shouted it once, dying of embarrassment, then a second time. All of the lights in Josh’s house were off, so she was praying nobody was home. Because if they were, the whole family was going to be woken up by her yelling.

The girls were laughing and cheering. She really wanted it to be over, so she took a deep breath and shouted it out for a third time.

If you think that you are the one who always chooses the wrong person to fall in love with, then my story is going to prove that I am an even bigger loser in this respect. I am only 18 now, but I have already experienced the weirdest romance ever, so bad that my mom booted my boyfriend out of the house right after a funeral dinner. Now I am so not available for any new relationships and here is why. Everything happened during my first summer after high school graduation. I was so happy that my parents allowed me to join my friends, who were traveling across Italy, to have a little break before college. As a matter of fact, it just so happened that I fell in love. Jonathan was there on a business trip. We met when we happened to be dining at the same café and… Oops! He turned out to be way older than me, but he was so handsome and behaved like a true gentleman. He courted me in an extremely fairy tale way, with all the flowers, and romantic walks, and everything. Even though it sounds cliché, I doubt that there is a single girl in the world who wouldn’t fall for it. So, pretty soon I’d fallen in love with him and my trip turned out to be something more than just a school break. But then my mom called with the most devastating news possible. She said that her mother - my granny, had just died and that I’d better hurry up and get back home. Of course, this was awful news. I totally began packing as soon as I hung up the phone and my eyes filled with new tears immediately after I wiped off the old ones. It was strange, but a couple of weeks ago when I flew there, I felt that I was so grown up already, and now all I wanted was that somebody was there for me, to make all the decisions so I wouldn't have to. Jonathan was the only help I could count on. He took care of the tickets and stuff and even suggested that he could help me through this period and I really appreciated that. But as soon we landed at the airport, a chain of pretty weird events began. So, my dad came to pick us up and drive us home. When he saw Jonathan, he was a little "surprised by his age," let’s put it that way. I mean, I told my parents that I wasn't coming home alone, but they must have been waiting for a young guy to arrive with me and not someone who could be my dad’s peer, I guess. The whole way from the airport, both men kept silent. From time to time, I caught my dad’s look through the car's rear view mirror, and I bet he was silently hoping that my new relationship was just a joke. It was awful, especially taking into account the reason we had come to see my parents. But just wait till I tell you about my mom’s reaction. As soon as all the official procedures with the funeral were over, we all gathered for a meal with our closest relatives and friends at my granny’s house. My mom seemed to be avoiding looking at me and Jonathan directly. And he, by the way, was also acting a little bit nervous and gloomy, so to speak. But what was really strange is that at some point when I was talking to one of my granny's old friends, out of the corner of my eye I noticed that my mom was talking to Jonathan. It was odd because I hadn’t even had a chance to get the two of them officially acquainted with each other, but she already didn’t seem very friendly. Even more, she was sort of trying to boot him out or something. I tried to end that conversation I was having, but you know old people, when they start talking and reminiscing about something, you can’t just say “stop” and walk away. Suddenly my mom appeared, as if from out of nowhere, and took me aside trying to sort of hide the two of us behind the bushes. In a very angry whisper, she asked me to take Jonathan out of the house and to promise to talk to her in private later that night. I had no idea what was going on, but I’ve never seen my mom that serious and persistent before. Of course, I rushed to fulfill her request. However, I didn’t expect that Jonathan would be so happy to leave the house. I thought that we should both just go somewhere, but he said that it would be better if I stayed here and that he’d pick me up later that night if I wanted him to. That sounded strange, but I thought that he was probably not very happy with my parents’ reaction toward him or something. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com #actuallyhappened

A short time ago Megan’s family moved into a new house. Well, it wasn't exactly new, but it was very spacious. It might've looked like an old shack with spiderwebs and ghosts in the attic but she and her parents had a plan for how to make it look great both inside and out. Among all their other ideas, they decided to turn their backyard into a beautiful garden. While her parents were working on the inside of the house, Megan started the gardening project by doing the most important thing – creating a garden bed. She was so happy to be out there working, but after digging only a few feet into the ground her shovel suddenly hit something hard. Her heart started beating faster with anticipation. What if she’d just found a skull? It did actually turn out to be a metal case, but there was no gold in it. Just an old watch with a near disintegrated white leather strap and Mickey Mouse on the watch-face, a round tin can with celluloid film inside, and a note. Being careful not to harm the film, she set it aside and opened the note. It was written by someone named Darla. She wished whoever found this treasure all the best, and hoped that when it was found the world would still be a prosperous place, and people would have already figured out how to fly to the stars. She also enclosed a gift – her favorite wrist-watch. The note was dated 1958. The note didn’t say what was on the film, so Megan was very eager to find out. She couldn't stop thinking about it, right up to the moment when she finally found a film projector available to buy online. She also spent some time studying how to play an old movie without ruining the film. This whole experience turned out to be an interesting adventure. And so the moment finally came when Megan was able to watch the three-minute movie, which consisted of just a few scenes. She saw her new house when it was a newly-built cottage. There was a view of the street, where she recognized a few of the then much younger trees, fully grown by now. To her surprise the area looked like it hadn’t really changed much over the past 60 years. The cars, however, were totally different. The last shot was of a pretty girl smiling and waving at the camera, with their house in the background. Megan assumed it was Darla… And she wanted to know more about her. She must be over 70 years old by now, she thought. The first thing she did was to ask all their neighbors. Unfortunately, none of them had lived there 60 years ago, so they knew nothing about Darla. Then Megan went to the city archives. She didn’t learn much, but she did find a record about the family that lived at their address in 1958. The last name on there was at least a starting point! Megan kept investigating and finally came across a phone number. When she called, a grown-up male voice answered the phone. She told him that she currently lived at the house where his family used to live, and asked him if he knew a Darla. “That's my grandma but she's losing her memory and for the last few years she's lived in a nursing home.” The conversation made her feel really sad. In the film she had seen a young girl, smiling and full of life and energy, and it felt strange to realize that now she had grown old and even lost her memory. She decided to visit her anyway. She went to the nursing home where Darla lived, and told the staff there who she was and what she had found. They didn’t object to her meeting Darla and showing her the things she had left in the box half a century ago. A nurse showed her the way to Darla’s room. The door opened and Megan saw a nice old lady in her seventies, wrapped up in a warm checkered plaid blanket. She was confused when she saw her, for some reason deciding that she was her great-granddaughter. Megan neither contradicted nor confirmed her thoughts. She just sat close to her and showed her the case that she had dug out of the garden with all the things inside. Darla thoughtfully twirled her old wrist watch in her hands while Megan played her the video from the old celluloid that she had shot on her smartphone's camera. Believe it or not, the old lady remembered recording it! She didn’t realize who Megan was, but she recalled with confidence her idea to leave a “time capsule” for people from the future. Megan listened to her memories about that day in particular and about life in general – what things were like 60 years before. It was certainly an interesting experience to see how people perceived the future over half a century ago! Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com

★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Katie, and her story is about telling lies. Unfortunately, because of a disease she’d had since she was a child, Katie uses a wheelchair. But she’s not interested in telling you too much about her condition. She stays at home most of the time – her physical state doesn’t allow her to leave her house for too long. But inside of her disabled body she has the sharp mind and energetic spirit of a young girl who wants to see the world, have hobbies, and go out with friends. However, she never managed to make any friends – she was homeschooled most of the time, and when she did go to an ordinary school, the kids seemed pretty embarrassed to even approach her. That’s why Katie has been lonely for most of her life. She doesn’t complain though – she’s thankful for the life that she has. And above all, she’s thankful to the people who invented the internet – for people like her it’s a blessing. It was through the internet that she finally found friends – mostly, people in the same situation, who couldn’t move around too much. Strangely, when she started chatting online with non-disabled people, and then after some time told them about her condition, they would get embarrassed and end the conversation. Katie doesn’t feel that she can blame these people – in fact she understands them. You never know how to treat people like her without offending them. Nevertheless, she felt that she was missing a very important element of her social life, which was sharing experiences. What experience could she share, having spent most of her time in hospitals or at home? This is when she had the idea of making a fake social media account of an alternative “Katie,” who was a regular teenage girl with an interesting life. She did it more for herself – to create the girl whom she might be in a parallel universe, and to feel as if she was living her life! She never planned to promote her account and get lots of subscribers. The idea was that she would be able to post pictures of herself, but in situations she would never really find herself in – out with friends, somewhere on a trip to Europe or Asia, skydiving, or whatever else came to mind. You can imagine how this became a full-time hobby for her. She can’t explain really to you how exciting it was for her – to plan an alternative Katie’s life so that everything looked coherent. Her mom even became a little worried when she saw that she was completely lost in her new hobby. But she assured her that it was just a way to entertain herself. In the meantime, Katie was becoming pretty popular. She started getting more and more subscribers, and had to invent ways not to be caught. She created fake accounts of her friends and made them all private. She improved her Photoshop skills and even finished an online course on retouching. At one point, she got more subscribers than she actually needed – it was becoming dangerous; someone could find out it was fake. But she still liked the people who commented on her pictures – they were always nice, asked lots of things, and no one seemed embarrassed. In her head, she was leading the full life of a healthy person and enjoyed it 100%. But this story had to end one day. Once, her imaginary Katie was staying at a famous hotel in Dubai and doing some shopping (sure, it was a bit of an exaggeration, but you can afford anything when you don’t have to pay for it). Then suddenly one of her most devoted subscribers saw her tag and wrote a message to her publicly: “Oh Katie, I’m in the same hotel right now! Let’s meet!” She responded weakly by just saying, “Sorry, I can’t, maybe next time.” This was enough to irritate her subscribers. They were asking if she was too arrogant or just ashamed to meet them. She came out with lame excuses, telling them that she had got sick, that she was going home the next day, and whatever else she could come up with. But after all that, they started to insist that she at least greeted the girl so that they knew she was real. She probably shouldn’t have answered them at all, but she liked to chat with them and the whole thing escalated so quickly she just couldn’t control it anymore. That blog had become her whole life, and she was about to lose it. But she couldn’t go on – people from that moment on would ask for proof of her existence whatever she did. She took a selfie of herself in her wheelchair and posted it on her blog. She explained how things really were, what that blog was for and who she really was. She apologized for telling lies and said that she wouldn’t be posting anything anymore. She was about to close the page when she started receiving private messages. Katie’s now closed that blog, but she’s kept in touch with lots of her ex-subscribers, many of whom have become good friends. This is how she lost her fake life but got real friends instead, and she now thinks it was worth it. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com

His family, his studies, everything...and all of it happened just because he helped his father at his work. He wishes now that he could just travel back in time or erase what he found out about him from his memory. It was hard to find anyone who didn’t admire Evan’s father. Everyone did. His mother, Evan himself, his colleagues and partners. You see, he was a rich businessman with his own company. But he started from NOTHING. So of course, it’s hard NOT to admire a man who achieved everything on his own and still managed to be a loving husband and father. And he totally wanted to be like him. Evan didn’t want to take what he had for granted; he wanted to be as hard-working as his dad was. And his parents knew this. So his mom came up with the idea of asking his dad to let him be an unpaid intern at his company during the summer, to learn the ropes. Evan loved the idea, and he thought his dad would love it too. But he turned out to be so...hesitant about it. Like, he said that he wasn’t sure if Evan would be needed there and said that he should enjoy his life while he’s still young. Anyway, he and his mom finally persuaded his dad to let him be an intern, and he worked very hard to help with everything he could. And soon, everyone at the office started to like him so much, saying how much he resembled his father with his industriousness. And he could see that his father was very proud of him. “I passed the test!” he thought to himself, and it made him work even harder. He knew that he was working for his own future. But...soon something happened. You see, his father was very strict about separating his career and his personal life. He would never talk about his work while at home, because he was fully concentrating on his family, being a perfect father and a perfect husband. One day his father went out to some meeting, and he was supposed to take Evan home that day. Evan thought he was busy, so he decided to just wait for him in his office, since it was unlocked and he had been in there many times before. While he was waiting there, the phone rang. It was in his desk drawer, so he decided to ignore it. But it kept calling again and again, like every 3 minutes, and he got tired of it, so he decided to answer and to say that his dad was away, thinking that maybe it was his mom. He opened the drawer and looked at the phone, and it was...weird. You see, his father had two phones. One was his personal phone, and the other his work phone. And this phone...well, Evan had never seen that one before. He answered the phone and a woman’s voice said: “Hey...want to come over today, darling?” He quickly turned the phone off. It wasn’t his mom. He didn’t know what to do or think, so he just left the office and never came back. His mom tried to ask him what had happened, but he just couldn’t tell her. And he knew that his father knew, but he just acted like nothing happened. That was the reason he hadn’t wanted him to work for him… From that point on Evan avoided his parents as much as he could, because it was too painful for him to see them talking to each other and smiling. And he couldn’t just tell his mom, because he had found out about it by snooping around. He started to hate his dad, and even his mom for not seeing what was happening. One day, Evan’s mom confronted him for avoiding them and spending a lot of time out of the house. She probably thought that he’d picked up bad habits or something. He tried to explain, but she was worried about him, and started to check his bags and everything else for things like cigarettes. His dad just kept silent, because he knew what was really happening and why Evan was acting that way. But he didn’t say anything, and Evan could feel his respect for him dwindling away completely. He was so angry, so one day he just said: “ask DAD what's going on.” There was silence for a long time. Then they left and went into their room, and he had to listen to them shouting at each other for the whole night. And it was his fault, of course...was it bad that they were living a lie if they were happy? Then they tried to act normal, like nothing happened, but he saw how everything had changed. After a few months, his mom said that they were getting a divorce, and she didn’t really explain, because she knew that he knew. Now they live separately, and Evan lives with his mom, and she’s very unhappy. His dad called him recently and told him that he’d done the right thing by telling her the truth. He also said that he couldn’t work normally after the divorce and that he doesn’t know if he’ll be able to keep the company. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com #actuallyhappened

★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Mia. Do you remember the story about the boy who cried wolf? Well, once, something like this happened to her. Once in school Mia was really tired and wanted to go home, but she of course couldn’t just leave early simply because she wanted to. So she decided to come up with an excuse. She acted like her stomach hurt, and after a visit to the nurse, where her acting skills turned out to be really effective, she was set free to go home! Mia was surprised at just how easy it had been to trick the teachers. Soon enough, she started using tricks like this regularly to get what she wanted. Sometimes she would come up with an elaborate story explaining why she hadn’t been able to do her homework or a test – because she had hurt her hand, for example. And like a true master of deception, she would have her hand completely bandaged up. Other times she would leave school saying that she had forgotten her keys, or that she needed to go to the doctor. And yes she would go as far as forging documents to give to her teachers as proof that she actually had visited her doctor. Usually, Mia would either go home or go to her grandma’s house, because she would feed her the kind of food that only grandmas are able to cook. She loved her grandma. She always laughed when she told her how she had escaped from school yet another time, although she did warn her that she probably shouldn’t do something like that too often. Once she really wanted to see a new movie, and during the evenings the movie theaters were usually too busy, so she lied and actually said that her grandma had died, and that she needed to go to her funeral. You see, she had recently needed to do a presentation, and she hadn’t been ready for it. So Mia decided to do what she did best. She put on a scarf and pretended that she had lost her voice. And she kept up the act for several days before the presentation, so that everyone would believe her. She was caught completely by accident – one of her classmates had a squeaky chair during one lesson, so he changed it for a better one. But then he accidentally dropped it on her toe while dragging it back to his spot. And she screamed. Everyone, including the teacher, looked at her, shocked. The only thing she could say was “my voice miraculously came back!” Needless to say, the teachers didn’t really believe her after that, so she had to stop. A very important test was coming up at that time, and she was busy studying hard for it – her intention was to REALLY study this time, and get a good grade. And then...her grandma passed away. Just like that. She would never hear her laughing at her stories again, or eat her amazing food, or even see her. But the thing was that her test was at the same time as the funeral. So she talked with her teacher about it, explaining the situation, and she answered “oh, your grandma died again? Or is it a different grandma? Stop it, Mia, you're not going to be able to get out of doing this test.” Mia was shocked, but she also knew it was her fault. She called her parents and explained everything to them, but they were angry at her for using her grandma’s death as an excuse before, so they said that she had to deal with it herself, especially because they were very busy with organizing the funeral… So her last desperate plan was to go take the test, finish it, and get to the funeral as fast as she could. So when the day came she was sitting there, and of course she really couldn’t concentrate. The tears were falling down onto her paper, because she couldn't stop thinking that she was missing the funeral because she was such a liar. And her tears didn’t really help her, because she had pulled that trick before, and of course the teacher thought she was just pretending. She had to make a decision – to fail that very important test that would have a huge effect on her overall grade, or try to finish it but miss the funeral. She decided that her grandma’s funeral was more important than the test, so she stood up and left the room, despite her teacher’s protests. She ran as fast as possible just to be on time for the funeral. She couldn’t believe that her grandma wasn’t with them anymore. And what’s worse, she could have lost the last chance to say goodbye to her, even symbolically. Later, after a few days, her parents had a very long talk with her teacher, explaining the situation, but at the same time finding out for themselves the extent of her lies. Mia retook the test and passed it. And now her parents monitor her activity, occasionally checking to make sure that she’s in school or not. Mia still loves her granny – she was the best partner in crime a girl could ever have. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com

This is gonna be a story of my first love which is now a taboo subject in my family. Everything started a few months ago and it seems like I'm going to be disappointed, shocked, and frustrated for the rest of my life. I feel like I still love the guy and I deeply hate myself for it. Jackson moved to our town six months ago. He was born here actually, but when his mom died in a car accident many years ago, Jackson’s dad decided to get a fresh start in another city. They traveled through almost the whole country, when his dad’s job finally brought them back down here again. Anyway, soon afterward, he started going to our school and we became friends, but then we both agreed that we were attracted to each other in a romantic sense and decided to begin dating. Jackson’s cool, you know. He rides a motorcycle and looks really mysterious and wise. I mean, there was hardly any chance of me not falling in love with him. Once he had the idea to go their family’s lake house and spend the whole weekend there. We had not been dating for that long yet, and my parents actually had no idea that he had a motorcycle, otherwise they wouldn’t even let me talk to him, you know. That’s why I lied to them and told them that I was going to spend the weekend at my friend Angelica’s country house. I didn’t feel great about having lied to my parents. And I had a bit of an unpleasant feeling inside, even though I was pretty excited about spending two days with my love. That unpleasant and worrisome feeling began growing soon after Jackson and I set out for our top-secret trip. At first, we got a flat tire; then, while Jackson was trying to fix it, a huge truck passed by and sloshed us with water and mud. I thought that this had to be enough trouble for one day, but as they say, bad things come in threes, so when we finally arrived at the lake house, dirty and exhausted, it turned out that Jackson had taken the wrong set of keys. We had nothing to do but to break into the house, obviously damaging the lock. A couple of hours later when we had finally changed our clothes and ate our dinner, Jackson and I were sitting next to the fireplace looking through an old family album. He was telling me about his mom, showing me her photos, and I felt like even though he could barely remember her, he missed her a lot. Suddenly we came across a picture of Jackson’s young mom sitting next to… my young mom! I was so surprised that I even screamed. Jackson, on the other hand, didn't recognize the woman next to his mom, but when I told him who she actually was, he turned pale. We rushed to look through the rest of the photos and found another interesting picture. Even though this photo had been taken many years ago when I probably wasn’t even born yet, I could bet I knew that man. Even though he didn’t have a mustache and his hair was long, I was pretty sure this was my mom’s brother – my uncle Henry. Of course, I told Jackson this and he was no less surprised and confused than I was. We couldn’t wait until the morning to go back home and ask our parents about everything, so we just decided to return immediately that night. Jackson’s dad was out of town, so I had to be the first one to begin the investigation. Of course, I had to confess to my parents that I had lied to them. Because it was already 1 A.M. when I returned home, while they weren't expecting me until the next evening. Dad was already sleeping and the talk with my mom wasn’t nice at all. She didn’t want to hear any explanation for why I had lied to her and how come I’d even dared to date a guy with a motorcycle, so she’d severely grounded me for that. And when I showed her the pictures of these photos on my cell phone and explained everything to her, she looked like she had just seen a ghost. She yelled at me, and told me that I was no longer allowed to see Jackson and that he’d better stay out of our family. I was devastated and I didn’t understand anything. At first I thought that my mom didn’t mean it, about me not seeing Jackson at all, and that she was just disappointed in my lies. But the next day she literally wouldn’t let me out of the house, constantly asking me to do something for her. Then, when the week started and I had to go to school, I wasn’t really expecting that mom would ask dad to come and pick me after my classes. So I basically had no chance to hang out with Jackson and I was totally confused because nobody would explain anything to me. By the way, Jackson managed to ask his dad about these photos, but the information he’d gotten explained nothing. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com #actuallyhappened

Do you like watching TV? Well, he wants to tell you a story about how a TV drama helped him to save his friend’s life. Jeffry is just a regular guy – the kind of person that studies well, but isn’t a total nerd. He has friends, and a girlfriend who he really like a lot. Her name is Caroline, she's a really successful figure skater and he’s so proud of her. He’s never missed any of her performances and even attends her training sessions. The only thing he hates about the whole thing is her skating partner, John. Caroline spends so much time with him, because of all their training and so on, and this makes him jealous. At some point, Jeffry began to notice that Caroline had become increasingly irritable. He tried to ignore her bad mood at first, as he assumed that her busy schedule with all the training sessions and studying and everything was the reason she was so grumpy. So he decided that he ought to try and cheer her up. He invited her out to their favorite cafe, which had always sort of been “their place”, and bought her a present. But when she came, she suddenly began accusing him of having an “annoying interest in her life.” That’s how she said it. She said that they spent too much time together, that she was tired of his constant presence, and that he was overly jealous of her training with John. She ended by saying that if Jeffry had had a hobby of his own, everything could have been different, but since he wasn’t interested in anything aside from her life, that they would have to break up. And then she just left. At first it was very hard for him to get used to the idea that Caroline and he were no longer together. Every day after school he would just sit in his room and think. He didn’t feel like communicating with anyone. He remembers how once he came home and found his sister watching one of those dramas on TV. He sat down next to her on the couch and tried to understand what was happening in that episode of “Gray’s Anatomy.” And guess what? It turned out to be a pretty good show, and not as silly as he thought it was. He actually became obsessed with it and started watching the series from the very first season – there were plenty of episodes to get through. And every Thursday he would look forward to a new episode and watch it together with his sister. He began seeing his friends like he used to before he had Caroline, but soon he noticed that his best friend Jim was spending less and less time with the group. He said that he just had some family issues to deal with. But then one day he called Jeffry and said that they had to talk about something, and that he would drop by to see him that evening. When he actually showed up and Jeffry saw his face, he looked pale and almost sick. Then he finally said: “Me and Caroline, we’ve been seeing each other for a couple of weeks now.” Jeffry felt his stomach twist somewhere inside. He was so angry that he just yelled at him, telling him that they were no longer best friends. At that moment, Jim collapsed on the floor and seemed to be unconscious. His sister ran into the room and started screaming something about needing to call 911. One thought after another was rushing through his head. He looked at his watch. It was 8:23 PM. Suddenly he realized what needed to be done. As if someone were giving him orders, he turned his unconscious friend over onto his back and tried to feel around for his pulse. He could tell that his heart wasn’t beating. Jeffry pressed his palms to Jim’s chest and began to do an indirect heart massage – no one had ever told him how to do it, but he’d seen it plenty of times on “Gray's Anatomy”. It seemed like a few hours passed before the paramedics arrived. He looked at his watch again – it only took them three minutes to get there. And even before anyone had asked him what exactly had happened, he told everything to the EMTs. They did their job, and Jim woke up even before they put him in the back of the ambulance. The next day Jeffry went to visit him at the hospital. He said he had a recurring heart problem that got worse whenever he got nervous, and he was definitely freaking out about the situation with Jeffry and him and Caroline. But the doctor promised that he’d be alright after a few days in the hospital. He also said that things would probably have been much worse if no one had done CPR at the right time. “How did you know what to do?” he asked. Jeffry had to confess about his addiction to that medical drama. The doctor smiled. When he was leaving, he passed Caroline. They didn’t say a word to each other. But he noticed the sad and sorry look on her face, and strangely he didn’t felt like getting mad at her. Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com

My Brother Or Dad Will Go To Jail And I Must Choose Who

★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j My name`s Chris. Recently I had to choose between who goes to prison: my dad or my brother. But I`m 13 years old, how can I even make that choice? We lived a normal life, but when I was 10 years old, my mother died, and our family changed a lot. We mourned her for a very long time... Dad was falling apart and couldn't deal with her death, so he started drinking. And then everything went wrong. He was fired from his job and was barely making any money. And almost all the money he did make, he spent on alcohol. It was terrible when he got drunk. His mood was like a roller coaster. At first he would cry, then scream and get angry. Then my brother Bruce took on the role of father in our family. He always protected and cared for me. For three years we struggled with misfortune, but things got better. We talked a lot with my dad, and he started drinking less. Bruce turned 18 and found a good paying job. We had hope for a normal future. But in one night, everything got turned upside down. One day on a weekend, dad got us a surprise. He had bought tickets to a baseball game! Hurray! We were going to spend the day like a normal family. Dad took us to the stadium and we watched the game. Bruce and I were so happy! But it couldn't have been that good. Dad ended up meeting his friends and left us to watch the game with them. We agreed to meet near the car in two hours. But when the game ended, our dad never came. We tried to call him, but he just wouldn't answer. We stood by the car for over an hour and he finally showed up. He could barely stand on his own two feet! Apparently, he had gotten drunk with his friends. It really pissed Bruce off, and ruined his evening. He took dad's keys and said he'd drive us himself. We got in the car and drove off. But dad was aggressive, he kept telling Bruce how to drive, and it was really annoying him. They were fighting and yelling at each other. I didn't want to hear it, so I just closed my eyes and put my hands over my ears. But then it felt like the car jumped, and when I opened my eyes, the last thing I saw was the windshield breaking. When I woke up, I didn't know where I was. I raised my head and saw my brother. He was sitting next to me, covered in scratches and bruises. I was immediately frightened, but he calmed me down. He said everything was fine. We had been in an accident, but we`re lucky because we were almost unharmed. I exhaled. Then I asked where our dad was. Bruce said he was fine, he's just in the other room. But then I remembered their fight and I said, "We crashed because he distracted you, right?." This question made my brother think for a moment. Then he said, "Listen, Chris. The police came... They asked about the accident, and I told them that our father was driving, not me." Then my brother said he might have a problem with it, but that it would be better for all of us if the police thought that my father was driving. Maybe he will be forced to go into rehab or something. There was something strange about this proposal, but I believed my brother and decided to support him. After this conversation, Bruce was relieved. He said we could go home in the morning, and that I needed to sleep. But I couldn't sleep. I was worried I'd have to lie and I tried to calm myself down. I wanted a water, and I couldn't find it in my room, so I went out into the hallway. I have to say, hospital corridors at night look just like they do in horror movies, and you don't expect anything good from them. I kept looking for someone to ask for water, but there was no one around. I walked down the hall to the end, and when I turned the corner, I saw a little girl crying at the entrance to someone's room. I went to her and I wanted to calm her down, but she wouldn't stop crying. I asked her what happened and she said her dad was biking home from work, and he got hit by a car, and now he's in a coma. I figured out that it was us right away. We were the ones who hit him! What's more, my brother was driving, and he's trying to hide it! This changed everything. It was not just an accident, this was a crime, and Bruce was trying to set our father up! Yeah, he's a drunk, and my brother was only driving because of him, but he's not guilty! I ran back to the room and I woke Bruce up. I started yelling, "Bruce, we didn't just have an accident, you hit a man! Dad is going to jail, do you understand? You have to confess everything!" I started arguing with my brother. He said, "You want me to go to jail? I know it's bad, but think about it, who's gonna take care of you? Dad?" Then I said that it didn't matter. My Moms Boyfriend Is Almost My Age I Am SHOCKED

★ DO YOU WANT TO GET YOUR STORY ANIMATED? SEND IT TO [email protected] IT WILL BE GIVEN A VOICE OVER BY A PROFESSIONAL ACTOR AND AN ANIMATOR WILL MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT! ★ Subscribe ACTUALLY HAPPENED https://bit.ly/2J5HP7j This is Athena, and right now she’s going to tell you about how she nearly ruined three people's lives at once. You could say that she has the wrong attitude. Athena can be intense, stubborn and quick-tempered, but she never feels uncertain about anything – and she always know what has to be done in order to keep everything RIGHT. There’s no way she could ever have been any different. Her mom is single, and Athena is the only support she has in her life. That’s why she tries to protect her mom from any stress or pain, including the kind that can happen in her love life. She’s young, beautiful, and very kind, and in Athena’s opinion she deserves nothing less than the best man ever. From time to time, when she starts seeing somebody, Athena watches the man in question very closely. If he ever makes so much as a small mistake, she throws them out of their life! Seriously, this may sound implausible, but Athena really KNOWS how to do it. But her mom’s new boyfriend turned out to be a real monster! First of all, he was only seven years older than her. Can you imagine? Seven years! When her mom introduced him, Athena was so shocked that she actually behaved herself. But as soon as she got the chance, she tried to talk to him. His name was Tom. He wasn’t scared of her at all! Even though this weirdo saw how mad she was at him, he calmly replied that they had to learn to be friends for the sake of her mom. And then he said that he was in love with her and that he wouldn’t ever give her up. Frankly, even she was a little confused, but it only made her all the more determined to get rid of him. From that moment on, she was constantly irritated, because this guy was almost her age! And she had to somehow deal with it. Tom behaved as if there was nothing wrong, and it made her mad that he was always there, so calm and friendly, as though everything was fine! Athena hoped that her mom would notice how bad she felt, but it was as though she’d suddenly gone blind and didn’t notice that anything was wrong. She paid less and less attention to her. On the one hand this was almost a good thing because it meant Athena was more in control of her own life. On the other, though, this hadn’t happened because she had suddenly grown up. It was all because of her mom’s new boyfriend. Her mom began to spend what seemed like forever preening herself before she went out. And she bought herself so many new things that would've looked way better on Athena than on her. She used a lot of makeup, did her hair really cool, and all in all acted way more relaxed than she used to. And Athena thought that all of this was both gross and ridiculous. One day, she found out that her mom and Tom went out to the same places where she and her friends went. Oh my God! She would die of shame if her friends saw her mom dressed in her hip t-shirt, holding hands with a guy who had barely even graduated from college! And then a terrible thought appeared in her head: what if they decided to get married? She couldn’t bear the thought that somebody might confuse her stepfather for her boyfriend! That would be a nightmare! She had to do something before it was too late. Once, when Tom came over to their house, she noticed that he was nervous. He seemed to be hiding something in the pocket of his jacket. She suspected something sketchy was going on and decided to find out what was happening. When they were watching TV in the living room, she sneaked into the closet, found the hanger and checked his jacket. Of course, she knew that this wasn’t the right thing to do, but she was doing it for her mom’s sake! She just had to know! And guess what was there? A little velvet box with a RING inside! Athena panicked. She walked in circles trying to figure out what to do next. There was one thing that was clear to her – she had to do something! When she went back into the room, they were sitting on the sofa, watching TV and laughing, but she loudly made herself heard and told her mom that they needed to talk right NOW. And when they left the room she insisted that her mom had to dump this guy, otherwise she would pack up her things and leave. Her mom didn’t say a word. She just went back to the living room, where she talked quietly to Tom for a long time. Athena doesn’t know what she told him, but after that he left abruptly, without even looking at her. He never came back. And her mom ditched all her new clothing and her makeup, and became delicate again. She looked like her regular mom again. Athena was pleased with herself and with what she had done for her. But soon she understood that her mom was actually not the same. Yes, she was her mom, nice and kind...but also very, very sad.
